Bacon here is that striped stuff that comes in strips. What others seem to call Canadian bacon, we call back bacon. Back bacon is just fried ham.

I think it's just us that calls it Canadian bacon.

We had it when I was a kid. I think my Grandfather wanted it around. I tried it a few times. Put it on meat. It tasted like molasses mixed with worstershire sauce.

I'm not sure why we have a bottle now. I think it's from when my mother in law went away on an extended vacation.

I think the british don't like mayonnaise because it's french. The french are good at sauces. Bearnaise, etc.

I can't get my head around putting mayonnaise on a fried egg and bacon sandwich, I am sorry. It's like telling me that water runs uphill, it just goes against everything I know and understand.

Mayonnaise is OK but it has limited uses. Goes well with cheese and chips.

We put butter on sandwiches too. Here in Canada, we co opted the best of all worlds.

Butter is the second most important ingredient after bread when making a sandwich, it is standard. Some people put margarine on if they're sick in the head but we don't talk about those people.
