I went bacon shopping last time I was in the states. It was all like that. Loads of it, all like that.

yes, you're right. All we generally sell is "streaky bacon" in varying degrees of quality and thickness.

sorry for not providing you with something else you're used to. jeez. do you always go to foreign countries and expect them to eat the exact same foods as you?

Don't get me started on the quality of your 'tea'.

it's not a quality issue with the bacon though, it's that we don't have the same kind.
which seems like kind of a silly attitude, tbh. might as well stay home. and just make yourself a cocoon out of your marvelous British-style bacon in that case. :p

In China the best you can get is this:

Which is massively streaky. I blame America personally. :p

I still don't quite get people complaining about (streaky) bacon

isn't it, like, one of the most universally celebrated foods?

It's alright until you try any other form of bacon. Which, might I add, shouldn't be so overdone as to be crispy but should be served kinda slightly bendy IYSWIM.

ok, well I'll have to try some. Can't believe I haven't, actually.

I'm guessing it's more of a case of thinking what you're used to/grew up with is superior though.

I like unhelpful food names that got lost in translation somewhere. I've eaten here:

I'd say its hygiene levels were adequate.

There was an Indian restaurant around here which invited people to look in the kitchen if they wanted and leave feedback regarding the cleanliness. The manager was a bit OCD when it came to hygiene. The place was immaculate however.

It got flooded a few years ago and never re-opened, guess the guy had a breakdown :(
