Do you own a jug?

I'm astounded by the number of jugs people have. Do you all have huge kitchens with loads of cupboard space?
Very small kitchen here at Brogdale acres but some of Mrs B's jugs are around the house in different places...for some reason.

All these pics are giving me a weird case of jug envy.

If it weren't for the fact that our kitchen cupboards are bursting with junk that I've been promising to clear for months; I'd get some jug action going on eBay right now.
Pull your finger out and clear some space then :D

I'm clearning out my mother's house. It is rich in jugs. 2 have been rehomed with her in the care home. The rest (maybe 15-20+) are going to the charity shop.

At home I suspect myself of having also amassed many jugs, can't really remember and I'm not there to check. I think I want to keep probably 3 of them: pyrex measuring, little one for refilling iron/grinder, bigger one for flowers/watering things.

Several - three or four are in regular use.

And I broke the plastic one I used for stuff in the garden recently. Must replace that soon.

I own two "growlers". I used to refill them with freshly brewed local craft ale, but since I've ceased drinking; I no longer need them.
Anybody want them?

20240418_175257.jpgMy favourite jug because my daughter made it when she was roughly eight years old. The indentations are from a flower she picked at the city farm and pressed into the outside before it was fired. I don't use it much these days in case I drop it, but it's actually perfect for gravy.

We have 3 jugs I think. 2 plastic, one big, one small and one large Pyrex (standard).

This general thrust of thread reminds me of ...

I thought this was a thread about bum jugs aka bodnas or lotas. As I just bought a couple and was wondering about starting a thread on them. So much cleaner than loo roll. My bumhole feels so fresh!

I also have a number of other jugs for milk, flowers, gravy etc. They are way less exciting though.

You don't want to get that muddled up with your gravy boat

Why does gravy boat now sound like a euphemism to my brain?
Oh god you've broken me :( 🤣

The mental imagery 😭

Sorry anyway, I really just wanted to share my enthusiasm but maybe it's the wrong thread.

Mrs (lurker) B has asked me to post a picture of her favourite jug which was, somehow, overlooked in earlier postings. It's a Rye Pottery, Cottage stripe (blue) and is genuinely mid (19th) century as it was purchased by her parents in the late 1950s. For some reason she also asked me to alert danny la rouge

My Brita just worked, now trying to find something that fits maxtra+ and maxtra pro or whatever the new one is filters. Have more filters than the value of a jug but also want the better newer one. Idk if they are compatible and nothing online I have found suggest one way or the other, just goes on about how the new one is better, no shit.

I have gone to the fridge at least 6 times looking for a broken jug. 10+ if you include the household.
