I've got about two dozen silk ties - mainly purchased when tie rack went bust and they were flogging off stock at the kiosk at the station. Probably only wear one a couple of times a year when doing stuff like interviewing people. Never feel comfortable in them.

I think I have about six. A blue and black one I purchased and four I inherited it off my dad. I seem to recall I had to wear one at primary school which seems a mad concept now. That was the cheating one with elastic band. Maybe it wasn’t every day, maybe it was. Man it’s like archaeology such an ancient times. Not just my age but the whole concept. The kids wear school ties any more in regular schools I mean

I miss remember, I had a proper tying tie at primary School after the age of about five or six. Still a bizarre concept.

We didn't have to wear ties at school - they were pretty lax about dress code stuff if memory serves. I do have to stop and think how you tie the damn things when I do wear one. It doesn't come naturally like tying laces.
