oddly enough more than likely the most grown up thing i own is the iron board and the iron

can use it for making toasties as well

:hmm:

For some reason, I have somehow accumulated three irons, although these days, I only iron for smart/special/funerals.

The last one was a gift - a fancy steam generator iron. Maybe they were dropping a hint..?

Oh, I also have a print iron from work - rectangular!

Oh I do have a steam cleaner that has an attachment for doing clothes. Because there is nothing more satisfying than putting on slightly warm damp clothes :hmm:

(I use the steam cleaner for doing the sofas and cleaning the windows).

i'm taking the pish fella but still as long as your paying the cleaner a decent wage

still 3rd up against the wall after tories, landlords and ....

:p

you have arms right?

don't need a cleaner to make that happen
I have arms but have neither incentive nor organisation.
I do need to pay a cleaner because I’m terrible at doing most household chores as I find them a huge challenge, so prefer to pay someone else to do it instead of living in filth.
It also makes me take care of myself and my surroundings better as I feel more accountable to prevent the squalor getting out of control.

I grew up in a house where hankies and probably sheets and towels were ironed.
I had one in the days before I discovered tee shirts.
I also used to use it to weld scavenged polythene for the allotment and garden.
Then I acquired a replacement with some other stuff but probably never used it and eventually had the plug off it/
It recently left my life as electrical scrap.

Never ironed anything, never owned an iron.

My mum used to spend two or three evenings a week standing up ironing things all evening in front of the TV when I was small, it's one of my strongest memories, watching her doing that and hearing the ski sunday theme tune.

I asked her why a few years ago and she said she always enjoyed it and found it theraputic and calming.

Rarely use iron since I retired. Had to iron work trousers and shirts when working.
Ironing board is a bit of a nuisance to try to keep out of sight.
Someone should invent a collapsible/folding ironing board which can be hidden away.
