Discussion: UK anti-vaxx 'freedom' morons, protests and QAnon idiots

That very well describes a fair amount of people who post to these forums from my experience, and I'd just add generally unpleasant and that they chat a load of absolute shit half the time.
I imagine, by virtue of the fact that you're still here, that there must be SOMETHING about Urban you like and that keeps you here. It's a shame we never get to hear about that bit, and only get to hear about everything (and it does seem like everything) that you see as wrong with the place.

If you're just going to cluelessly insult people again and again over multiple threads, I'm going to start banning you from those threads. Starting with this one. Please read the FAQ for the clarification of board rules.

Was thinking about this today. What freedoms have we lost through covid? Can anyone name one? Having to wear a mask in hospital? having to book your gym session instead of rocking up (which admittedly does get on my tits)? Okay, so teh economy has tanked, but even that is showing signs of life. So what, mr anti vaxxer, are you exactly complaining about? Doesn't life (a neo liberal dystopia pretty much anyway) look pretty much how it looked before the pandemic?

It's from the same arena as those right wing nutjobs who claim that there's a "blob" really running the country which just happens to be left wing or "socialist" or similar. The fact that we've had 12 years of Conservative government, an out of control housing market, cruel immigration policies, etc, is beyond them.

The anti-everything types will always see what they want to see.

I see merit in the "lost, lonely. traumatised, disimpowered" argument, especially disimpowerment - and that probably explains many of those who get radicalised by this horse shit. But I alway see merit in the "arrogant, narcissistic, vain, with an incredibly over-inflated sense of one's own intellectual and knowledge ability" argument too. i know it's all a bit simplistic, but i still think there's a certain almost incompherensive arrogance and hubris to many of them. Too special for lockdowns, to0 logical and all-seeing to believe in the nonesense churned out by scientists at Harvard, Imperial, the NHS, etc.

How did Pfizer even employ this idiot ?
Honeytrapped and innacurately sharing commercial secrets on the third date ...

plenty more where that come from....

I find those "truther" doctors the worst, they make wild announcements, this then gets caught by vulnerable people who get worried and I see them coming to ask questions on facebook groups, latest was some canadian grifter saying "seek vaccine free fathers if you want a child" I mean for fuck sake, get a grip and stop the bullshit, the one in the quoted post has "censored truth teller" tagline somewhere online, offers (paid for) consultation where you can get a referral letter to your own GP (£55 for the consultation, £30 for the referral letter).

This seems to be getting them particularly worked-up just now:

Of course the claims turn-out to be based on studies retracted for manipulation:

And UK ones are getting really worked-up about traffic reduction measures for some reason.

Much talk of bogus citation mills and likely Russian involvement - but also attempts to debunk the peer-review system and even dadaism ...
The negative comments are amazing.

Massimo Fioranelli appears to be a loony as well as a fraud - seeking credibility for online university.

I still don't know if I had measles as a kid - I'd have thought I might have remembered that.
I remember chicken pox, but I was a bit older by then - and shingles at 51 reminded me ...

Weren’t you vaccinated against that shit? I thought it didn’t exist anymore in the UK but wouldn’t surprise me if it’s making a comeback.

I was born in 1960 and the measles vaccine didn't arrive until 1967 - so I only had DTP and polio vaccines...
kalidarkone is younger than me, but I thought they posted that they were given 2 doses when they started nursing ...
I've fallen out with the UK medical system so I hope I don't have to go to my GP for it.

Apparently, I got measles at some point after receiving the first vaccination dose but before receiving the second. And so I never got the second. No idea what any of that means for my health!

TBH, the measles vaccine (pre-MMR version) was the one I had a nasty reaction to - Which apparently left me very ill for some time and with a measles-like rash for some time after. What happened was that after my mother refused permission on the advice of our GP, one of the teachers at my school decided she knew better, filled-out a permission slip on her behalf and queued me-up with the other kids.

Our GP absolutely hit the roof when he found out about it...!

I don't recall ever getting a second dose.

US rather than UK but since MMS has been discussed on this thread this might as well go here

Drinking Bleach Is Deadly. Why Are Some Americans Still Consuming MMS? - Bloomberg

Their trial is scheduled for later this year, but the Grenons continue to tout MMS from their prison cells via the messaging app Telegram.

Bloomberg has also co-produced a podcast about the MMS saga 'Smoke Screen: Deadly Cure'. First couple of episodes available now.

A medical friend of mine has been approached by a few people to do some 'therapeutic blood drawing' which they think helps them with their 'vaccine injury/ME/long Covid'.

I mean obviously they said no as it's a mad mix of self harm, quackery and conspiracy theory. But it's worrying this shit is likely getting done by some people. They seemed outraged they couldn't get it done by the NHS.

Why don't they do some good and simply donate blood ?
It's actually reckoned to be of benefit in certain cases - but not this one, obviously ...

Yeah absolutely no idea why they won't do that or hadn't thought of it. They were very specific about the amount they wanted taken though (100mls) so maybe that's why.
