I should say, I have had, in previous years, very good success with three-strap birkenstocks, but I gave them up for vanity.

I have very short, and fairly wide feet - and the flat spread enabled by the birkies made them look almost square. Certainly no a good combo with the fifties-style tailoring and frocks that makeup my working wardrobe. These ones i've ordered are still a bit clumpy - but daintier, narrower shoes shred my feet and i have a pretty fucking active job, as well as weighing about twice what i should.

Are they comfy?
Took me a while to get used to wood rather than Dr Martens AirWair under my feet, but yes they are - you kind of have to learn to walk in them, as they are so rigid. I have the lower heeled ones and a higher pair of closed-toe ones, but the low ones are definitely comfier. My feet slide forward in the high ones and my toes end up squashed against the front of the shoe. Definitely worth following the tips in the Size Guide. And buying the sale/seconds ones.

Oh, I don't know if I could learn to walk in them, I wear Converse and Clarks, have rarely worn anything else in a few years now. They look really nice though.

These - because minnie mouse's shoes are yellow, thus proving a recent theory I heard that yellow shoes go with everything:

OMFG I WANT those....in more than one colour.

/swoon

I need some sandals atm. Due to my feet changing size (wtf? I didn't know this was a thing with having babies!) I've had to get rid of about 8 pairs of shoes :(

*heads to Clarks website*

I've got myself these recently...

I need a different colour in my wardrobe!

My feet have changed size too Biddlybee - really inconvenient when you're on a budget. My walking boots don't fit ffs. I've got that cardigan!

spanglechick have you tried different shape Birkenstocks? The toe peg ones might offset the square look. Love what you've bought though, especially the gold pumps :)

Now i want some of those clogs

Everything in 4 has had to go, 5s have stayed. I've not checked the shoes in my cupboard yet :(

*please let me irregular choice ones be 5s*

Ooh, thanks for the heads up on these May Kasahara & moose! I'd not heard of them before, I'd been looking at Swedish Hasbeens for ages but not been able to justify the ££ and these are about half the price

I have a brand new pair of irregular choice shoes like these in a size 38 which I think is a 5 which I bought but didn't fit :( and have sat in my cupboard ever since because I loved them too much to part with them (but that's ridiculous because they're never going to fit me) - if you want them they're yours...

Love the cardigan and the shoes. Where are they from?

I'd be really sad they weren't in your cupboard any more :( What size are you? :hmm:

I used to be a 5 but then children and spreading feet/bunion so now I have to wear a 6. They honestly are never ever going to fit me again :D ( :( )

I was hoping you'd say 4, then you could've had my not very worn hush puppies and carvella sandals  Gwan then, I may have a fancy party to go to one day :D

I'm going to check the 5 or so pairs of heels in my cupboard tonight, with a bottle of cider.

I have a pair, but my toes are too short for sandals with a toe post. I can't take more than a few steps in anything like that before it's unbearable pain.

These two have come (had to get the others from John Lewis). The gold pumps are fine - if a little feel-able on the heel (this is a problem with almost all shoes - as opposed to boots or backless sandals). Hopefully my heels will toughen up before the shoes destroy them.

The yellow ones are a bit narrow across the front (strangely, the backs are soft and snug) - but the leather is really soft and a bit unfinished-feeling, which gives me strong hope that they will give quite a lot. Any hints as to how that might be hurried along?
