Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

Oh and another thing - I was talking to one of the assistants in the Fly shop at sale time, and she said that the sizing varies quite a lot between different styles. The blue shoes I bought were in fact a 6 when I'm normally a 7 - they were a bit on the tight side across so I had the same dilemma as you but for a mere £30 I thought it was worth a punt and they've been fine - but they weren't that tight.

ok.. I tried them again this morning - but with no socks and they're not super super tight. I think they will hurt if I wear them for very long at first - so they'll need some breaking in. Almost all shoes I buy are not super comfy at first anyway. I checked online and there is no size 9 available in them anyway. There is these for lots cheaper than usual though - any idea if they're a more generous fitting - they do also come in size 9 - good time of year to buy boots - I doubt I'll wear them hardly till Autumn - it's getting to 5 months of birkenstocks for me.. :D...

Rutita1 Biddlybee RubyToogood - my Fly boots arrived and they are very snug - despite being size 8 (stupid fat feet).

Do they loosen up or should I send them back? :( ) Rutita1 - I appreciate it's a bit early to ask you this.

i ended up getting them a size bigger than normal. i usually wear a 6 and mine are a 7. my feet are stupidly wide also.

bearing in mind you'll usually wear thicker socks with boots, they've been fine.

they do feel a bit loose if i'm only wearing tights, but they never feel like they're going to slip off or anything.

Not exactly new threads but Im losing weight and now two nice s/s checked shirts I bought previously that were too small now fit me and I'm about another inch off getting back into my smart suit (my cheap suit is already a bit big now).

Slap? I treated my self to some Michael Kors for Men and Armarni Diamonds Black Carat edition. Both on special, 64 quid for the two.

My discount expensive jeans have arrived... I was right about not going wrong with indigo bootcut, but also as I suspected, several inches' shortening is needed. I might declare these 'smartish' jeans and actually be all grown up and get them shortened to 'wearing with heels' length, although I usually wear trainers, but maybe for maximum flatteringness (it's a word!) I'll only wear them with heels.

They're also a nice light summer weight, which is good as I do kind of need more trousers like that.

They even vary in the same style between different batches. They're hopeless but I keep persevering with them.
I have 3 pairs of wedge shoes from a couple of years ago in a 5, 6 and 7, all of which fit me. Those boots that gaijingirl posted above, I have in black and black patent, and the patent ones feel a size bigger than the plain black. I normally take a 6, but had to get a 7 in them. I have some ankle boots in a 5. It's helpful to read reviews for Fly stuff on Amazon, because you can see broadly whether they run small or big, and I tend to get mine from places I can return/change them.

A load of stuff from everything5pounds.com because I am skint lol

Some of it might go back because I'm not sure about their sizing.
This arrived today, the jumpers are fine and the owl dress is FAB but the other dress is too young for me and the green top is just kind of shapeless and weird and nothing like the picture, so they'll go back.

argh... someone just bought the last pair...

Oh no. :(

I am also getting to the stage of wearing nothing by Birkenstocks for about 5 months.
I have had the same pair for about 6 years also
I really need some new ones although they are still very comfy.

I think I might fancy some black ones this time although I can't afford them right now.

I think I'm going to try some Birkenstocks this year. I've had cheaper versions which have shredded my feet.

Although I am looking now and it is still just giving me a store locator when I click "how to buy" :hmm:

Sorry, forgot to mention you need an email invite to start with. I thought they might be lying to me but I just checked and it asked me to confirm my email address.
It doesn't say when it's fully launched. [emoji20]

I don't know. [emoji1] I might have got an email because I've registered online for nectar? Want me to pm my email address so you can have a look?

Sorry to get you prematurely excited!

That's OK :D

I am registered for necter online I think.

I do get emails from sainsburys but I normally just delete them without looking

The hot weather sent me on a hunt for my favourite sunscreen and as usual I can't find spf 50 in the shops and it's sold out at Boots online.

It's really moisturising, my sensitive skin doesn't react and it smells amazing. I can't recommend it enough.
Anyway, I ordered directly from Hawaiian Tropic as its half price at the moment and free delivery over a tenner so I ordered the spf 30 face one too.

After a conversation with trashpony last week in which i explained the open wound on my foot caused by yet anoth failed attempt to find sandals that don't draw blood... I had a bit of a splurge on Clarks shoes online last night:

These are apparently as comfy as birkenstocks (according to the reviews) but have a bit of a flattering wedge:

These - because minnie mouse's shoes are yellow, thus proving a recent theory I heard that yellow shoes go with everything:

And these - which aren't actually sandals, obv - but hopefully will be comfy enough to wear without tights:

I like all of those spangles. Am suddenly facing the summer work shoe conundrum myself (shoes that can be worn without tights/socks but also without creating serious foot odour...and that are smart and comfortable). I am contemplating Lotta from Stockholm clogs...
Have you had them before? Sizing's a bit odd. :hmm: And I get told off for clacking round the office :D

I have the same issue except that added to all that I need something exceptionally supportive. I wore my failsafe Birkenstocks last week for half a day and my foot injury flared back up again. Gonna look up Lotta from Stockholm now..
