Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

really taken my eye off the ball with TKMaxx it seems - I went in today to discover the last day of the summer yellow label sale: So I picked up some nice dregs for pence, but I've missed loads of good stuff. Grrr.

However! I did get:

3 nice shirts
1 waistcoat (down from £160!)
a little dress for Martha
some underpants

for the princely sum of £6.60

Simply Be, and polyester, unfortunately, but I guess I won't be wearing it very often. Slightly worried about the length, because the reviews all say it's very short, and I won't have time to change it, but let's see....

ETA: It's arrived - just touches bottom-of-knee on me, and polyester is of non-static/itch variety, so all good :) Shit belt has been binned. :D

Ooh good, is it sweaty?

Sainsburys have 25% off at the moment so I got 2 pairs of leggings.

For those that are interested, I'm happy to report that their leggings have returned to the thicker, better quality material. I'm not sure if loads of people complained or if it was a result of my one woman crusade* against baggy leggings.

*I sent an email.

Anyway, I tried on a lovely pair of brown leather Chelsea boots yesterday but didn't buy them and they've gone today. :(

I've got to ring after their deliveries tomorrow. I want them at 25% off dammit!

No, not particularly, because it's not clingy. Not sure it would work for you, though, because I seem to remember you have a much longer body than me, and the waist would be too high and the length too short.

And now I'm going to go and feel leggings in Sainsburys tomorrow. :D

Yeah, I've got a very long body.

It's the 'luxury' ones, the two packs are still shit. :)

I bought a swimming costume. My existing costume makes me look weird.

It's fab- it has a proper bra in it. And pull-y up sides so you can make it more daring or not.

I actually like my body in it....:hmm:

I need a new swimsuit as my existing one is just U.G.L.Y; I thought it'd be simple and flattering but it just does nothing for me. But swimsuits are so bloody expensive, like all 40 quid plus these days and I just can't be arsed. Maybe I'll just wait until midwinter and buy one online on sale!

Figleaves have a swimsuit sale on at the moment- not sure how much is left though

It's worth spending that on something that makes you feel good. You're essentially in your underwear in front of lots of people.

Word.

Cloo I know it can be a demoralising nuisance trying to find one which fits all over, stays where it should, and which you actually like, but IMHO it's more than worth doing. For one thing, it's one less excuse to stay away from the pool. BTW if you can afford it, buy two - one to be rinsed and dried while you wear the other one - I hate clammy cossies.

Just got a really nice pair of brogues, kind of halfway between a brown and yellow colour. Classic uppers and really thick leather soles. They had had an insole in since new, took that out and the inner is like new. The leather soles look like they have been walked on maybe three or four times as the half rubber heels still have those little grooves in them. £20.

Japanese denim Levi's jacket. Never seen this design before. One breast pocket on the left hand side, kind of folded over seam down each side of the buttons and button holes. Lovely denim. £15.

Ted Baker merino wool jumper. Love this, really thin but warm. £10.

Brown striped French Connection short sleeved shirt. £3.

Sandy coloured corduroy Levi jacket. Really fucking expensive but I loved it. £33.

For ages I've needed a dress to wear to things to do with Mr Yu's work which wasn't black, wasn't horribly short, wasn't cut to show any cleavage at all, wasn't massively dressy, and wasn't fitted so that I could eat lots of food. Went to a proper city with proper shops over the weekend and found a Monki store. It was so nice to find a shop which wasn't H&M or Zara but was still western sized. I could have bought so much in there, and it was really well priced.

It sounds like a Type 1, bmd. I recently sold one for £250 on ebay. Does it have a cinch back? Pics would be nice.

And most definitely a bargain. So was the merino jumper but with nowhere near the resale potential of that jacket. :)

Exactly the same except it doesn't have the flap on the breast pocket. I'll try to sort some pics in a bit. I got it from an old arcade second hand shop in Lincoln, there were only about three shops in the whole place, same shop as I got the brogues from. I mentioned it to a bloke in a shop across the road that I got the cord one from and he said that she gets some great stuff but doesn't have a clue about clothes.
