I was just laughing at myself because I had that on, the jumper and the brogues with some Levi's Made and Crafted jeans yesterday and I was absolutely boiling. But I kept the jacket on anyway.

I dunno if I posted at the time but I got a pair of black patent DMs from my parents for my birthday in June but where it had been so hot I couldn't start wearing them until last week.

I love them and they are not actually that painful so far. I was expecting worse of a breaking in period.

killer b I can't say any more about them. I've just found the makers and they are, well, have you heard of Shoe Zone? It's like the upmarket version of this brand. I really like them and they're solidly built but they're not quite as amazing a find as I first thought.

In my defence, they were sitting at the back of this dusty old shop in a run down arcade. I thought, my god, these are amazing. I have found a real bargain! And I genuinely like them but being a clothes snob, I mean prizing the superior workmanship of well made clothes, I wouldn't normally shop at the Shoe Zone end of the market. I was played by an old woman in a tat shop. I take my Harris tweed cap off to her.

So to recap, a pair of £5 brogues I paid £20 for and an old denim jacket. The jumper is nice and warm though, especially in August.

I bought some we shoes today and though they seemed to fit in het the shop now when I am walking around in them at home my heels keep slipping out of them. I'm not sure whether to bring them back as this means they are small or to try to find some device to stop the heel slipping.

Been there done that. Demoralising as it is, I'd take them back and hope to find a pair which would stay on. If you don't, you could end up spending as much as the shoes cost just trying to get them to stay on. FWIW my heels are just the wrong shape to ever keep slingbacks on.

A pair of red cashmere gloves and three pairs of cashmere wristwarmers: moss green, amber and bracken (sort of reddy brown). At least one of the latter is going to be a present for someone, but I can't decide what colour/s I'd like to keep
