bit much going on there imo. I'm all for bright socks, but if they're going to be anything more than an occasional flash then you need to be careful they don't clash with the shoes - I think those do.

Tell me about it - I've been short shopping this week and twice had to take them back cos I turned against them. Found some £8 ones in the market today that I had to settle for as I needed shorts for the weekend. I don't think I like them either.

I am! So I wore my brightest trainer socks. Or Stupid Little Socks as I call them.

They look hideous! Like bedsocks.

Scaled up to adult size, they just look like normal socks, but it's that turn over top I'm after.

Why? They would irritate me intensely. I'd have to keep straightening them. I would get OCD on the folds.

Me too. Boring and functional. I can't find any decent shorts!

I would go for a closer fitting, tailored short. there's more of them about now than there were (although still not that easy to find...)

There are some right horrors of the fitted variety too. They also tend not to fit me (baggy ones too - I am between sizes)

vast improvement, excellent work. a nice white pair of stupid little socks would work there as well.

...and a slightly vile skirt from Peacocks, which my bezzer and I both separately noticed as being the sort of thing that would catch my eye when we walked past it to go and look for some sandals for my daughter (me in a 'Ooh! ' and her in a 'Omg ' way

Mine just came a few days ago. I sadly have returned it, though. I wasn't happy with the fit, it looked a bit frumpy on me. Looks great on you though!

Thanks! I am usually too scared to buy nice dresses on the internet in case they don't fit but I just had a good feeling about this one.

Jacket from A Child of the Jago with trousers to match. I walk past the shop every day and finally I cracked. The pattern cutting is fantastic, and I'm not sure I will be able to buy clothes anywhere else now.

love that ^ I got a really nice pair of drainpipe jeans the other day, boys cut they are called but they're drainpipes. look good with lace up boots . which I ha=ce, also zip boots, I actually have gone from being the owner of 1 pair of boots this time last year to being the owner of one for every day of the week !!!

My boots have actually fallen apart so I ordered these cowboy chelsea boots to replace them. (Half price in the sale.)
I'm hoping I don't find the pattern too flowery and annoying in person.

I remember my dad all dressed up in plaid shorts, black dress socks, brown dress shoes and horn-rim glasses. Once he took me and my giggly girlfriends to go shopping in the nearest town. I managed to lose him, but he found us all at the record store. He stood outside, dancing this spastic chicken dance until we were ready to leave, which wasn't long. It was one of the more embarrassing moments I remember. Its also one of my fondest ones.

The charity shop had a half-price sale. I bought a black eyelet lace dress, a pair of Harley Davidson motorcycle boots, a cream and pink chiffon top (very sheer), and several t-shirts from North Face and Columbia.
