Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

Collectif: disappointing :( The clothes were lovely but just didn't fit me at all. As I suspected, I'm just too short - the dolores dresses came down to ankle-length :( And while I could get them altered I think they just wouldn't be the same with 4 or 5 inches taken up and the cost of alteration on top of the cost of the dress is just too much. I guess no one makes clothes that fit me :(

The day wasn't a total loss, I did get 3 new bras (36HH ffs) from Bravissimo including a red polka-dot one and a black plunge one.

It does. The seagull one I had was a tiny bit too big for me as a size 18 when I was 2 stone heavier than I am now. Do you fancy doing a trip at some stage cos I need to try some stuff on too as I want to get a dress for a wedding next month?

Do you want your rose Collectif dress back now missus seeing as you will fit it now :)
It's just hanging in my wardrobe.
Can get the bloke to take it in to the pub with him and you could pick it up?

so the Collectif red bag isn't in the sale - although they accidentally made it look like it does online - they're going to change that now.

So I just bought the dress. Have just paypal-ed it! God I love and hate Paypal in equal measures. So easy... :) but so easy.. :(

mrsfran - sorry it didn't work out for you at Collectif - I agree, not much point in taking them up. There's got to be a shop out there for you with clothes that are just perfect fo you... wish I could help.

Which is why I think I may need an 8 which just seems wrong so I can't bring myself to order it! Let's do it! I can do Monday next week but then that's it until the end of Sept!

I know - I reckon I might need a 14 which is veh odd :D It's bank holiday on Monday isn't it? I've got a feeling I may be promised elsewhere but I'll find out and drop you a PM :)

you probably will both need those little sizes - that Dolores dress does come up big - very flattering dress though. Some of the others don't come up as big.

If you both get Dolores dresses there's going to be quite a number of Dolores dresses amongst us!

Sorry about the frocks - what a shame.

I have the red polka dot bra too. That model of bra is my most favourite ever. Comfy, and proper up-thrusting shape. They stopped making it for a year or two. I was bereft.

What size were you wearing before?

That is a good plan. I had my two made 2 inches shorter than standard and its so nice to have things just on the knee. They do made to measure on their roll end fabrics for less than a dolores doll.

Wow - I splashed out on some of that there mineral powder foundation yesterday, the Loreal one. Fuck me! What a difference!! It goes on BRILLIANTLY - and doesn't even look like I've got foundation on! What a revelation  It's dead easy to put on.

I was wavering a bit cos of the price of it, but buying the other stuff (I was using a liquid one that blends in well but nowt like this) is just a false economy.

oooh.. maybe I should get some of that mineral stuff then.

Anyway - my Collectif dress arrived and RubyToogood came over and looked at it on and gave it her seal of approval... so now I just need something to wear it too... :D Got about 8 weeks (almost) solid of camping w/ends coming up - so probably not the ideal scenario - but will just have to squeeze in something a bit more glamorous!

Bought two lovely frocks and a skirt n preparation for the autumn, they arrived in the post, I tried them on and one of them fit
I hate shopping.

I hate my wardrobe, I never have anything to wear. Am pretty much thinking of putting it all in the bin and starting again.

I have a hankering for a mini-kilt, which seem to have come back into fashion. My legs aren't bad, but I am a bit worried about being a bit mutton though. :hmm:

New boots  any recommendations for looking after nubuck?

this. I just don't really like anything I own right now and want to chuck it and start again. (this may be because 3/4 of my wardrobe is in storage)

I've just had to buy a new hair dryer as I fear my Toni and Guy one is trying to kill me. I also ended up buying one of those Babylis(s?) styling wands so I can have lovely curled tresses.

I bet I'll be screaming blue murder in a few hours when all my hair is caught in it and I've burnt my forehead.

I agree, I love the ones from Karen Millen and M&S but they are just too short. I may go and try them on over leggings to see if I can get away with that - the shape of me hasn't changed since I was 20, but the face certainly has!

Given the usual distance between his feet and his head, I wouldn't have thought that'd be a problem.
Purple is a tricky color: mourning in Thailand and Catholicism the colors is still royalty in Europe and has mystical meanings: third eye, psychic ability, hidden knowledge, high aspirations, dreams, unconscious, invisible, telepathy, deeper truth, magic. It’s the color best fit for luxury and richness – look how Danforth Diamond uses purple in a very effective design.
Studies show that purple is the preferred color for pre-adolescent children – so if this is your target, than bright purple is the color to use to promote children’s products. As I said above, it is a great color for feminine designs as well. Light purple and lavender can also mean nostalgia and sexual indecision, while dark purple can be sadness and frustration, despite its close relation to royalty and richness.
