Detail your latest clothes and slap related purchases here #2

I have just bought some black suede brothel creepers from Underground. Fucking expensive at £89 but my first ones were only £15 from Shoe Zone and the crepe sole split in half the second time I wore them, so I figured it was a false economy buying cheap ones again. Have saved up for these too so don't feel quite as guilty as if I'd splurged.
That said, did also buy this weird kimono type top in TopShop tonight that I really couldn't afford but it was so lovely...ahem!

It's worth buying decent ones innit?

Is the kimono a top or a dressing gown robe thing?

I have the most amazing Chinese-y smoking jacket robe thing. It has shoulder pads and makes me feel awesome
Coz I can't get out atm my mum brought me a whole selection of clothes to try on and she would take back what I didn't like/didn't fit.
Most of it was really cool and I loved and that stuff was the TU stuff from Sainsburys
The Next stuff was of far inferior quality and boring.

Who'd of thunk that

Is any of it not black? :hmm: :p :D

next stuff is inferior and boring. it totally mystifies me why it seems so popular.
Back in the long ago, early/mid 80's Next stuff was decent quality, the Next Directory when it was introduced had really good quality clothes, shoes and home wears in it. I used to buy loads of stuff from there.
I don't remember when it started to go downhill but it's been rubbish for years. Mostly man made fabrics and cheap looking cuts. I haven't been in for years but I see their clothes in charity shops. It's odd that a successful brand could lose it's way so badly. Having said that, people must still be buying their stock and they continue to trade but not in the best locations these days.

I think I've only ever bought one thing from Next, and it's a black party-ish dress I've worn for work's xmas do. I've never had the slightest urge to get me purse out for anything else there. And although they do a range for the more robustly-proportioned lady, they photograph it all on very small models so you can't really see what it looks like.

I like brothel creepers and was looking at some in Camden yesterday, but had to conclude that they're probably too frivolous for my new job, if I'm going to be serious about smartening up my look. Some DM lace-up or t-bar shoes are still a possibility, though.

I wear a lot of Next trousers and jeans because their petite sizing is spot on for me.
The rest of their stuff is a bit boring though.

A few years ago they had some really nice dresses in the plus range but it's been very dull lately.

I also used to buy a pair of jeans in there that were a good fit. Of course, the wankers have discontinued them.

All their jeans now have like a pink swish on the back pocket or diamante or some shite on them

I've just done what I should have done ages ago and mde an elasticated belt from a spare inner tube.
I'd been suffering with the worst belt design imaginable which I'd bought to match my new combats. :-

All sharp rivets and getting the two prongs the right side of the other bit was a nightmare.

It was much easier than I had imagined, as the too short and falling apart counterfeit Armani belt my Chinese friend brought me had a buckle secured by a threaded rivet.

RubyToogood I saw a dress like my black one from New Look with a crochet collar on the asda website - know you were interested in the black one... its pink though :hmm:

Asda

I can't see your pic but if its the one I think you mean, it's on my want list for payday. It's a bit cutesy but it would be perfect for spring/summer and Glastonbury (under a cagoule clearly).

ETA-is it this one?

Spiral wires, boning tape, purple & silver appliques, hook & eye tape, buttonhole elastic, and self adhesive net.

Not much to show so far - I'll have to see if I need to make holes, or if it makes its own ...
I may even buy an infinitely adjustable buckle or eliminate it altogether.
Having no easily definable "waist" at the moment, this should make things much easier.

More delicate people might want to use road tubes rather than mountain bike ones - or do what some people do and spend hours cutting "links" from an opened-out tyre.

I won't be uploading photos of my actual waist unless I lose 50lbs.
The other thing is because I'm so overweight, I don't tuck my shirt in so it can't actually be seen ...

Brilliant! Georgio Armani better watch his back :D Maybe you will need to glue the non-buckle end flat so it pokes through better.

I was thinking about maximum utility - regretted chopping 6 inches off the end ... you never know when a length of rubber pipe might come in handy.
Loops cut off make handy rubber bands.

More contributions to the dreaded 'work wardrobe'.Ordered these trousers in charcoal, petite fit, from Boden - last few were on clearance:

And this top from their teen range, which I think might go nicely with the trousers:

Why gave I not been on this thread for ages? Forgot how much I love it.

Recently bought a grey/black denim shirt dress from Sainsburys which I really like. Now trying to stop myself rushing out to get the blue too. Though it would be lovely for spring...

Also a variety of navy and cream striped tops from primark. Think I have a weird addiction in that respect. I'm hoping Kam just thinks they are all the same top. Also a pair of primark aviator sunglasses, which I get every year.

Yesterday I replaced my liquid eyeliner and am trying a new blusher both Mac and fooking expensive!

I've also bought a new pair of leopard leggings with a black wet look panel down the side of each leg
