Good point about the print. I assumed the black band was her strapless bra.

okay - found an ebay store that does petticoats for £20 - double layer with bottom frills, choice of two lengths, good feedback, will let you know if they're any good.

i got the longer one - if they're too long, putting in a new waistband is a half-hour in front of the telly kind of job. But i thought better too long than too short, and although my legs are stunty, my actual waist is pretty high.

if by big you mean on the waist, then obv not a problem for me... but as i say, re-waisbanding would be easy peasy.

if you mean big in terms of fullness, well - isn't that the point?

I got this dress in laura ashley - for £44, reduced from £99

I also got this dress in dot p's, for £29 instead of £35

also got a denim skirt in laura ashley with a big discount too.

which made up for feeling fucking hideous after trying stuff on in new look.

Actually I got off lightly - he's been wearing the same two raggedy trampy pairs of jeans for weeks, so this morning we got all his jeans/trousers out for him to try them on, with me expecting that most of them were going to be too small/too fucked up and would need chucking out and replacing...but no....turns out he's still got loads of pairs that fit...even a new pair ....he's just been sticking with the comfy choice...

Only one pair was too small...one was too big and the most worn through ones (gone in both knees) have been turned into cut-offs....so anyway, getting him one pair of shorts (some skull camo ones ) seemed a good result in the end!
