Coronavirus: if you are able to offer help, please post here

Mutual aid group.

Thanks, I've sent a request to join my local one.

 Don't you disparage Lutopia!
Mad as a hatter....
Luton, combining the excitement of a bustling London Borough combined with the charm of an historic market town nestling i. The Chilterns...

Mutual aid group.

Can you PM me details of the Bristol one as I'm not on fb. Cheers x

Stockport / Manchester. I'm likely to be working from home a lot so can look after kids and pets. I also have a spare room if anyone needs to stay with somebody while poorly. I'm not bothered about getting sick.

Happy to order a Tesco delivery for anyone struggling with money.

I don't have a massive stash of food but will be batch cooking nutritious meals and happy to share.

Related to this it would be good if people could post details of organisations that are coordinating volunteering opportunities at a local level. Question asked re. Brixton at end of thread here:

Glasgowshire

Ha, you are practically a neighbour, as I am in G21.

However, I will be mostly in G32 East End, because of 85 year-old demented Dad. However, that's good because it actually has buses and trains, so I could fetch emergency supplies along to anyone in dire straits. Unemployed, so lots of time.

The interesting thing is that we probably can't guess what might be needed as most of us haven't lived through a Big Deadly Plague before, so even without transport or notable cooking skills, I suppose it's worth signing up to be useful just in case one can be, if you see what I mean.

For example, it hadn't occurred to me about pet-sitting, but could happily foster a dog. Nearby park for running about in. (And my Dad would probably love a temporary dog.) Can't cook, but could send a Kindle to distract from the starvation, sort of thing. :D

Im also keen to join the mutual aid groups and do what I can. Great idea.

Bristol. Not so busy now as I was before.
Got a car and can help with whatever.
Happy to provide company and held a hand if anyone gets really isolated.
I can cook pretty well and would be happy to help with batch cooking or ingredients.
Anyone nearby in the SW in need just let me know.

I'm wondering how I can best do this. I don't know anyone in this block of flats and I don't speak a lot of Spanish. I have A2. But I don't feel I can do nothing.

Croydon.

Have car can travel :) can offer supplies sourcing and delivery, monies for supplies, arrange supplies deliveries, pet tending, work week days and some weekends but can find time in evenings.

Maybe now is a good time to resurrect the chat room too? Little bit of real time social interaction for those self isolating?

Ooh and if anyone wants an online Scrabble opponent (who is crap :) ) I can do that too!!

I need help giving a single fuck about it.
I know I probably should but I'm failing to muster a single fuck. It's just a thing that's happening. If I get it, shit happens. The same logic applies to all and sundry.
I felt like this. But suddenly things escalated, and very rapidly. Now I'm in isolation. I can't go out except for food. Everything, bar essential places, is closed. It changes your perspective.

I have elderly friends and family. I hope, if they need it, there'll be some kind people to help them.

And a big thank you to each and every one of the great Urban family that we are for offering all this help.

I know folks here hate Fa$eb00k for obvious reasons, but locally to me it's starting to be a focus for local community stuff - with a special group set up for the immediate crisis ... nextdoor.co.uk is proving slow to take off ... there's even a group for my street ...
