So the "Hate" was the Fash.

Im wondering if Cruella should be sacked now for whipping this up and encouraging them

Tories like her don't realize what they are whipping up when they go for the hard right message. They think they can control it and build a political career on it.
.

She should be sacked, but it's anyone's guess whether she actually will be... Sunak (and Labour) are already trying to muddy the waters around what happened today with the "both sides" stuff.

I don't think she can be that stupid as to what she's whipping up. Same as the right wing papers. I think they know full well the type of people they are speaking to. Of course, they'll pretend that's not what they wanted when it all kicks off rather than admit responsibility.

The atmosphere at demo was good. The placards are more angry.

I actually think it was good for my head to be in big group of people who think like me.

Given the appalling stuff coming from Evening Standard ( my London paper) , Tories and Starmer.

Some pretty spot on placards there.

I'm starting to wonder. Arbitrary detention and murder of Palestinians was already happening. Netanyahu is openly racist. He aspires to a 'pure' Israel for Jews only. And now he's in the process of carrying out genocide against 'human animals', while members of his government advocate nuking 2 million people in hate-filled spewings. What more does he have to do before we are allowed to compare him to Hitler?

The one I potentially have a problem with is the 'You can't kill a people who know death is not the end' one.

Yes it is but it was not the only one.

Its a viewpoint I can understand given the hard right government in Israel. This does not mean that it that all Israelis think like their government.

Zionism - the present Israeli government version has a lot of similarities to fascism/ hard right nationalist ethnic nationalism. The present government is heir to Right wing Zionism.

Given what is being done to Gaza and what is happening in West Bank with settler violence ( not stopped by government) Id say the present lot in government - which now includes the opposition- are acting in fascist way to Palestinians.

I was wary of calling the bombing of Gaza genocide.

But looks to me that this is similar to 48.

Though the leading lights in 48 were left Zionists - David Ben Gurion.

Given what is happening to Gaza thinking on it Id say yes compare it to Nazis now.

They have already said these people are human animals.

Zionism always was racist. Whether Left or right versions.

From where I am, I'd keep references to Hitler well away from comparisons to Israel. But if I was Palestinian, things would be very different.

I've always thought this - South Africa yes, Hitler no. But there comes a limit. At the point where it is just openly genocide, where the term 'ethnic cleansing' is no longer adequate. I'm certainly at a point where I'm not going to criticise others for making the comparison.

Looks like Rowley is managing to match the numbers up. View attachment 399648
Maybe I'm just getting old, given that I normally like to see leftish protests get a bit spikier. Today thought would have been a 100% win had it stayed entirely peaceful on the PCS/Palestine side. Of course none of this will make much difference either way to the Palestinian people, but a massive and peaceful demo would have demonstrated A) public support for the cause and B) Cruella,, kieth and Sunak are a bunch of devious liars. Anyway, not that important, the turnout was the real issue.

I was just going to say, there is some fun in seeing the guys around the Cenotaph and their supporters online complaining about kettling and antagonistic police and the like being the cause of the violence and unrest.

Do hope they'll remember that next time they want to blame 'anifa hooligans' or whatever. Alas, might be a bit much to ask them to engage in that kind of critical thinking so quickly, but y'never know...

Got to laugh at the whole "counter protestors" thing. Don't think I saw a single placard or banner in any footage of those cunts.

I thought the small “show respect” sign mentioned earlier might just have been someone concerned that any meddling with the cenotaph or whatever would sully the whole message rather than something more far right.

Overall, though, when the bulk of arrests are of fashy flag-shaggers it sends a message of unity on the main points.
