HO HO HO Chi Minh! was a chant roared from the mouths of many radicals marching through London back in the day. Seeing a brutal American state take a kicking from a 'backward' society of agrarian peasant labourers was actually inspiring.

and please take note - the pedestrian crossing didn't have those tasteless zigzag lines until the 'health and safety gorn mad' brigade took over the world:p

Sir Paul McCartney has to be reminded how to play Beatles tunes he wrote

He might not, but everyone else does :)
Many years ago, with an experienced traveller in Hanoi, I was told you could go almost anywhere and people would be able to sing along to a Beatles song. And so it was
that everyone in the bar we were in were singing along to all the tracks being played. I am certain this is not true anymore and have tried to prove this wrong with
youngsters in the office.

It has just struck me, one of Mrs T's favourite events of the year, The Great Dorset Steam Fair is now over 50.
We are booked to go this year. Great Dorset Steam Fair - Wikipedia

I saw some place claiming to be the oldest pasty maker in the world recently, was it this? Cornwall's Oldest Bakery | Warrens Bakery

Had one two weeks ago in Bodmin. Certainly tasty. Had a Rick Stein one in Padstow the following day which didn't compare favourably despite having high meat content etc - disappointing. My favourite was from a St Ives sea front cafe near to some black sheds! Dont know name of place unfortunately, but they were doing two for a fiver! Ace! BTW, im one fat bastard as well as a pasty expert.:p:p

As a follow up to this delicious favourite topic i just google mapped the St Ives shop that sold Cornwalls finest pasties at two for a fiver. It was Warrens!! It must be all the practice that they have had since 1860.

Barnecutts don't do a bad pasty, but their quality control can be poor in my wide experience, some of their traditional's hardly feature any meat. Of course, that is good in an era of rising eco consciousness, but that aside, they only receive a 'could do better' mark from this experienced taster.

i dont believe these fucking boards! People are endlessly prepared to post contributions (often multiple ones - you know who you are) about trivial shite to do with brexit or Corbyn or Boris or some other half arsed and lame dross..

YET, when a truly interesting topic is diverted into an even more vital subject like the best cornish pasty in Cornwall all the usuals fall soundly asleep like fucking sloths. WTF????

I don't go to cornwall any more purely to avoid eating a minimum of four massive pasties every day. They do have great pasties, although all the pubs sell tribune and doombar which are both shit

50 years ago the Battle of the Bogside started.

And here is a really good documentary about it -

some great testimonies in this - from the derry housewives setting up a petrol bomb factory to the local mp (bernadette devlin) using a megaphone to give tactical advice on how to pelt the police with stones.
