Crisps. Definitely. Crisps with salad cream even better.

Fried egg sarnie if I want something slightly more nutritious.

Thats a total ponce sandwich.

In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar and garlic. Season with parsley, oregano and pepper. stir in olives and mushrooms. Set aside. Cut the off top half of the bread. Scoop out the inside, and leave a 1/2 inch outside wall. Spoon 2/3 of the olive mixture into the bottom. Layer with turkey, ham, salami, mozzarella, lettuce and tomato. Pour remaining olive mixture on top, and replace the top half of bread. Wrap securely in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.

Had a period a few years ago when I ate a Red Leicester, spring onions and mayonnaise sandwich for lunch every day for 2 months. Overdid it, but am now feeling the need for another.

Can't quite beat a hula hoop, salad cream and cheddar sarnie though. Or butter and marmite on a baguette. Or the standard fried egg and jalapeno ketchup hangover destroyer.

i used to eat mustard sandwiches as a kid. simple, but very tasty :)

then my fave sandwich became either marmite and cucumber or peanut butter and cucumber.

My missus just can't understand my love for this.

I don't think they really have it in New Zealand (other than for pet food) so she finds my Mighty-White-adorned-with-too-much-butter*-with-some-slabs-of-corned-beef concoction utterly repulsive.
Yeah. It's in NZ. I used to get fed it as a kid by my Scottish family. However, my Good Lady feels the same way about corned beef as your missus.

Proper Egg.

Some readers may be assisted by forming the mental image "egg mayo, but working-class".

E2A: with salad cream if anything.

cheese

ham and mustard

cheese and onion

All fantastic sarnies with good ingredients and bread

I haven't had a cheese and onion sandwich for years. Ms Idaho hates the smell of raw onion, so next time she's away for the weekend I shall treat myself.

It has to be grated cheese with onion IIRC.
