Chilli con carne and jacket spuds....

Although i fear it may have turned out a bit too hot for Moonpig, how to cool it down??

Creme fraiche or sour cream.

Undecided about tonight's tea. Probably that aubergine curry again as there's still a couple of small aubergines left.

dominos 2 for 1 pizza.... after a financial crisis today I learned tomorrow I will have sufficient in my account to breathe again so were celebrating... its a huge treat :)

Having Basil & pine nut margherite pasta with spinach and (oddly) Lawrence Dallaglio 'Diavola' chilli & garlic sauce.

Bit of French bread on the side :)

We had smoked haddock and freshly dug up taytoes with sweetcorn, followed by home grown rhubarb with a crumble made from museli, honey and golden syrup with custard NOM :)

Right, as I am absolutely knackered, we are just going to have hot dogs and boiled onions, with jalapeno relish, and then mint tea and cadbury's caramel for afters

mmmmm, cadbury's caramel (yes, I did fancy the female rabbit :D)

You know who did the voice, don't you? Professor Sprout in Harry Potter.
Which is probably why they can't re-run those adverts, no fickle youngsters these days would fancy the caramel bunny once they heard that. Boooo.

Back to tea - more of the lush soup I had last night. I've finished it now, which is a bugger.

Thanks for that ^

Right, well as daughter was out last night, I ended up having a glamorous tinned mackerel in tommy sauce on toast. TONIGHT we shall dine on hot dogs.

Fucking skint again already :( Trying to keep all the really nice stuff that I have in for weekends

Venison steaks with new pots and some green veg, if the steaks have defrosted.

Only ever used venison in a casserole before, any tips on cooking it?

all you can eat chinese  a friend and I were meant to go last tuesday but her grandad died :( so she came over to me and we had wine and takeaway

it's his funeral tomorrow so I suggested going out tonight to distract her a bit so we're trying again for the all you cna eat :D

Don't know about tonight, but I have to mention last night's. Hickory smoked chicken with lumps of mozzerella, scallops fried in onion, garlic and butter, and canellini and borlotti beans. We nommed like loons.

Tonight it's lamb chops, marinated in good old garlic and thyme, alongside broad beans, courgettes and pommes boulangere

And yes, it's the thread today that's made me think of the latter. I was going to do a risotto, but frankly it's likely to bug Aqua more this way.

;)

Isn't boulangere traditionally potatoes in stock but under a joint of meat? That thread was confusing me last night.

I made home made burgers seasoned with black pepper and Tabasco, topped with bacon and cheese in a yummy White bun. I served it with rocket, spinach and tomato salad.. Mmm x

I did homemade burgers too, mainly because I wanted to show my son's girlfriend how easy (and cheap) and delicious they were. I'd made pork, chilli and cumin burgers on Tuesday and she'd asked me where I bought them. She looked amazed when I said they were homemade, so the following day I bought some beef mince for three quid and showed her how it could feed six people, easily. I forget that young people associate burgers totally with manufactured & processed food rather than something you can easily make more cheaply as well as being far tastier.

Venison hadn't defrosted, so had chorizo and bean stew with couscous.

Put the deer to marinade this morning in some oil with juniper berries, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper... no idea if this is a good combo or not :D

My dad's recipe (who he stole of from his grandmother) of Luóbo Gāo (turnip cake). He made me 2 batches to bring back. Feel sick. Overeaten.
