Something small after last night's tea... although strangely tempted by the Kheema Matar now! Badgers

Tom Kha Gai
Serves:6 servings

Christ, that's ambitious. I take it your 'uninspired' phase has passed. :)

I cheat on most Thai pastes and soup bases. Tom Yum concentrate eliminates a lot of fussing, and I'm, a huge fan of the Mae Ploy pastes you can just squeeze out as you need it. But I never use tinned stock or powders.

:D

Yours.... hot hot hot
Mine... mild

I have to make medium and then spice mine up separately

I actually do not fancy it either after last night stodge but I could not bear to waste 500g of lamb!! Might make it up and freeze a big chunk of it as we also have some salad that needs using up in the next day or two...

Same in our house ;)

I can't be arsed to stop at the shops on the way home... I might have noodles instead... let me know how it turns out though :)

ambitious? ya reckon? nah, piece of piss to make, done it quite a few times. I always found using tights worked a treat for straining the stock - here's me several years ago (and about two stone heavier!) showing ye olde tights method :D

and yes, thank you, I am slowly getting my mojo back - you've kinda shamed me into it :D

Me and my flatmates are having a barbeque - at the moment I'm marinating some lamb in cumin, coriander seeds, garlic and yogurt, and some chicken in lemon, yoghurt, garlic and mint. I'm also making tabbouleh, an AMAZING coleslaw with pecans and maple syrup in it, potato salad, and veggie burgers. Mmmm.

She'd just taken them off after a whole days wear too, the rank freak! :(

LOL! The secret ingredient...

Not surprisingly, we never have any around the house, I have to default to good old cheesecloth, which will work in a pinch for stock-straining. I may have to start buying them-- but not in our village . I've raised an eyebrow or two there when I've bought Maxi-pads. There's nothing better for oiling teak furniture. :)

Hey Enid, did you make that soup?

err I'd just like to point out that I'm a card-carrying queer who hasn't worn tights since fucking school in 1984 cos they wouldn't let me wear kecks!!!

I bought the tights special - cos I didn't have a colander that was fine enough to strain the fucking soup

 at you all
