I'm baking tonight anyway so it has to be a quick tea

Something easy tonight. I'm going to the beach today, I have a tutorial tonight and we have a house inspection tomorrow so I might just go to the chippy. Or grab a chicken from tesco and have salad with it.

Venison (done to perfection n bleeding all over)
Chargrilled buttered asparagus
New potatoes
Peppercorn sauce.

Did a leak, new potato and stilton sauce bake with steamed broccoli and ate it in the garden - summer's here.
Tonight playing some tunes in the Big Chill House in Kings Cross so it will beer and maybe something off their bar menu if I can get a food token.

Sounds nice what's the recipe?

Pizza leftovers... Yuck. :D

EDIT: Actually, I think I'll just make a salad. A nice salad.

Leak, new potato and stilton bake

Slice 1lb of new potatoes into 5mm slices and boil for 10 minutes.
slice 1lb of leeks into 10mm slices and steam for 8 minutes (take 'em out before they're completely soft, you want a bit of crunch).

Make a quick white sauce:
25g butter and heat until melted.
Add 25g plain flour.
Cook for 2 minutes then add 300ml milk.
Bring to almost boiling, stirring constantly, then add black pepper, a teaspoon of dijon mustard and a decent block of roughly chopped stilton, say 250g.
Layer the potatoes and leeks (or just roughly mix them up) in a baking dish.
Pour the cheese sauce over the top, mix it in a bit, add little grated cheese to top.
Bake for 20 minutes at about 180.

Was lovely with steamed broccoli, would have been nice with a sausage or two as well.

Some sort of salady, finger foody spread, including, but not limited to, carrot sticks, celery, sour cream dip, salsa, olives, feta, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes...that sort of thing. Think I've got some tortillas so might make my own oven-baked tortilla chips.

Can't believe I just used the phrase "oven-baked". :(
