Parsnips will absolutely, definitely go with pork. The sweetness of the parsnip will work well. Just remember not to put them in until fairly near the end or they'll just turn to mush. Unless you want them mushy, of course.

Or you could roast them separately and have them on the side, that would also be lovely.

;)

Tonight me and lil fraction will be having bangers and mash with a bit o' steak I've got leftover from yesterday. And peas of course. Got to have peas.

We had the fish pie - smoked haddock, king prawns and peas in a thick bechamel sauce with a rosti potato and cheddar topping, which worked very well, with broccolli.....

This again!

oooh, I've not made a fish pie for ages... might have to do one in the next week or so.

Tonight I've got whatever I can be arsed to cook/heat up when I get home from college... or maybe cheese and crackers :D

Seared tuna steaks, roasted vine tomatoes in balsamic vinegar with some form of green salad prob rocket though dependant on what is the shop...this healthy living is alright though expensive

Leftover takeaway curry and rice from the canteen (I am at work). I am strangely excited by the prospect. :D

dunno. have a very elderly chorizo, elderly onions, very old onions and eggs. so maybe a tortilla. but dont really fancy that

i fancy a big roast dinner, lots of gravy and honeyed parsnips, but alas i am missing a few ingredients for that!

I've made a fucking gorgeous chilli and I'm not ashamed to say it. It's simmering away and smelling fantastic.

Actually, think I might need to go and, uh, check the seasoning. Again.

I went to the Colombian butchers on the way home and we had chorizo* in wholemeal pitta bread with salad.
*Colombian chorizo is coarsely minced pork with coriander leaf and annatto seed in sausage skin.

I was going to have veggie meat balls with a homemade sauce and spaghetti but now since it's late and I don't fancy any 'real' cooking Im having a quorn sausage sandwhich and potato wedges.

bought loads of chicken over the weekend and cooked up another curry tonight.

fuckin' chicken-ed out - especially with all this ethical eating bollocks in the papers and TV.

We such middle class foodies we couldn't bear to have pasta sauce from a jar and had baked chicken legs and risotto instead :D

I'll have the pasta sauce if you don't want it

Alright. Remind me.

Although I'm being overly self-depreciating - I'll totally eat it next time I'm on my own for dinner.

a good sized organic rump steak seasoned up a bit and grilled medium done, garlic and herb potatos and salad.it was the best steak i've had this year.

My red wine beef stew was lush - did it in the slow cooker so it was melt in the mouth. We had it with champ (mash with scallions) and it was really really good. I made some banana bread for after which wasn't bad either.

I made chicken and veg soup for tomorrow, and some pizza sauce and dough too - this cold weather just makes me want to potter about in a nicy cosy kitchen:)
Not good for the diet though. :(
