Pasta with jar sauce tonight

I got the jar free at the BBC Good Food Show. It has to be eaten eventually.

I'm having home made spicy parsnip soup, which I made last night. Yum!

I keep foprgetting I have a couple of rows of parnsips outside  I think I might make them into soup as they aren't particularly tasty

That's an ace quick meal though - pasta, jar sauce, grated cheese and salad. Can't go wrong :)
true, but some type of meat must be added to the jar sauce

Tonight will be the Haute cuisine choice.........

Heinz Spaghetti Hoops with grated cheese, served on three slices of toasted granary bread.

Comfortable, lazy but still a classic!

:)

Forever don't they? Aren't they full of sulphites?
I dunno. What do sulphites do?
I bought them from the Portugese deli (so they're not really chorizos actually) and they have no date on. And they're unwrapped.

I have decided that I'm giving up on doing tea, it's a waste of fucking time trying to feed this lot healthy, decent food.

Let them eat spaghetti hoops on toast! I don't care anymore. :(

Last night had roast chicken with tarragon garlic and lemon, served with dauphinoise potatoes. I also put a beef and red wine stew with shallots and mushrooms and tomatoes in the slow cooker for tonights dinner. Salads are just not appealing to me at the minute. :)

Chorizo does keep for quite a while... didn't realise they had sulphites in them though... I thought it was just dry cured?

hmmmm, last night boy cooked me some delish quinoa with stuff.... tonight is my turn to cook.

I have a cauli, a (savoy?) cabbage, red peppers, a leek, lots of carrots, a sweet potato, a turnip (swede ), some mushrooms, some curly kale and some spring greens..... cripes - have no idea - any suggestions???

also, has to be healthy, so nothing with lots of butter, cheese or cream :D

Most salami/chorizo/dry sausage has quite havy duty preservatives in it. It's why they're so tricky to make at home

Pork and parsnips

I've been scavenging in the veg patch and all i could find was some really manky carrots and some parnsips and beetroot. I don't want to put beetroot in the stew so i've put in soem carrots and parnsips. I also found some purple sprouitng broccoli so we'll have that on the side.

Will parsnips go with pork? It's chopped pork, onion, garlic, carrot, parsnip, sage, pasatta and a big glug of port.

Parsnips will absolutely, definitely go with pork. The sweetness of the parsnip will work well. Just remember not to put them in until fairly near the end or they'll just turn to mush. Unless you want them mushy, of course.

Or you could roast them separately and have them on the side, that would also be lovely.
