What stupid shit has Trump done today?

I only really lurk on Twitter, but I've seen this on a lot of posts lately. I have no idea why - I don't think I blocked thousands of people or anything. Do you know what the deal is?

could be that the tweet was deleted. i read twitter, I don't have an account, and i see it all the time. could be a bot, could be a personal threat.

75 Percent of Republicans Say White Americans Are Discriminated Against- Democrats say, not so much

Harriss Hill have a pretty shonky reputation, but not terribly surprised if these perceptions are true. Actually, I'd imagine even more Republicans think white folks are hard done by than 75%, but there you go.

The victimization of white America put forth by conservatives and right-wing media has taken hold, according to the results in a new poll from Hill-HarrisX. A whopping 75 percent of registered Republican voters said that white Americans face discrimination.

A majority of Independents, 55 percent, sided with Republicans and said white Americans are discriminated against. Meanwhile, only 38 percent Democrats agreed, and sixty-two percent of Democrats said that white Americans face little or no discrimination at all.
Interestingly, only 19 percent of white respondents said they personally faced racial discrimination, proving the point that the fear tactics of Fox News and other conservative media who sell the myth of “reverse racism” are working.

With no Fox News in the U.K., Trump calls for boycott of CNN parent AT&T

Trump, who is in London on an official state visit, suggested on Monday morning that CNN is the primary source of information about the U.S. for Britons, and wanted to know why AT&T didn’t “do something” given the network’s “unfair coverage.”

Fox News, one of Trump's favorite outlets, is no longer carried in the U.K. It was dropped in 2017 by Sky, the major pay-TV service in Europe, after Fox News said it would no longer provide its feed.

He could always watch Sky News, its Fox lite isn't it?

Not really. Sky News is just a rubbish 24 hour news channel, wheras Fox was always great to watch whenever reality collided with whatever they were telling people - such as this fantastic example from the 2012 Presidential election where Karl Rove, a staple of the network then and now, gamely tries in front of several million people to pretend that Romney could still win Ohio (and therefore the Presidency):

Also some of the shows on it were incredible, Glenn Beck's especially, as were the rare occasions when they interviewed prominent UK pundits, hacks and politicians of the right - who underwent remarkable transformations from the patriots they are over here to creatures that almost to a man said that they basically hated the UK because of the Muslim Sharia Courts / NHS death panels / socialism / poor / feminization of society / railways and so wanted to move to the USA forthwith (Farage was one of these until very recently). Stuart Varney particularly made an entire career out of this hatred of what his native land had become.

In fact if anyone is serious about combatting the spread of right-wing populism in the UK, they should really look at getting Fox News back on our screens with a South Park style "THIS IS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE" ticker running permanently across the bottom of the screen.

i'm sorry to be so blunt, but there are no words to express the naievete of that post. what appears to you (and to me) to be ridiculous is exactly what feeds the right. it's like pouring gasoline on a fire. take it from us, we're living with it.

Cathy Garnaat, a Republican who supported Amash and the president said she was upset about Amash’s position but wanted to hear his reasoning. She said that she will definitely support Trump in 2020 but that Tuesday night was the first time she had heard that the Mueller report didn’t completely exonerate the president.

“I was surprised to hear there was anything negative in the Mueller report at all about President Trump. I hadn’t heard that before," she said. "I’ve mainly listened to conservative news and I hadn’t heard anything negative about that report and President Trump has been exonerated."

Republican Justin Amash stands by position to start impeachment proceedings

so if you want an england full of people who only know what fox tells them, yes bring back fox.

The point was that Fox is crafted to appeal to the US right and it is (as you say) very good at it; when viewed from over here it is ridiculous and the falsehoods were blatant. Don't forget that it was actually on satellite here for at least seven years, and when it was taken off air it was averaging 2000 viewers a day.
