What stupid shit has Trump done today?

I have to be honest, this makes sense in exactly the same way a separate air force made sense many years ago.
The US has serious space power and is developing more so it's likely to happen sooner or later anyway. At the moment that seems to be restricted to spying but who knows what's next.
I think space should be left to the air force. I can't imagine what a space force would do. It looks like a stunt.

With Trump, it very probably is a stunt but, just like a blind man fumbling for something, he managed to get this one right.
All the arguments against a space force are exactly the arguments about air forces many years ago.
They were wrong then and they're wrong now.

That in no way means Trump is any use at anything, just he managed to get one thing right by pure accident.

Isn't creating a Space Force just going to give the cunts more of an excuse to militarize space? It's not like they're going to be fighting any aliens up there, they're just going to develop more weapons to antagonize the Chinese and whatever other nations think space is big enough to share with the United States.

I would reconsider my position if this Space Force was being created under the auspices of the United Nations, and its mission included sending Trump to the Phantom Zone.

It'll give yet another excuse to pour billions more into the military and the arms merchants can't wait...and we'll have moon colonies...cool.
President Trump will request that Congress set aside $8 billion over the next five years to fund the creation of the Department of the Space Force, which will oversee Space Force and the commercial exploration of space by private companies..."The directive I'm signing today will refocus America's space program on human exploration and discovery," the president said back in December. "It marks an important step in returning American astronauts to the moon for the first time since 1972 for long-term exploration and use."

U.S. Wants to Spend $8 Billion Over Next Five Years on Space Force

US Military Space Budget 2017

Of course, this budget must include funds for the US Air Force, which oversees DOD space activities. The Air Force is asking for a budget of $8.9 billion in FY 2017 in order to keep its satellite assembly lines operating, improve space situational awareness capabilities and conduct five rocket launches for DOD. For FY 2018, expect a request for significant increases due to the next wave of new programs.

They are already spending the cash, just it's a different department.

Possible, but they're doing it anyway.
As I mentioned before, don't take my opinion as support for spending cash on an already massive, bloated military - I'd far sooner see the cash go to medical aid, food aid, disaster relief, or anything else that does good instead of causing yet more fucking trouble in a troubled world.

This will please his supporters, but prove everyone else was right about Trump being a racist twat

Omarosa says Trump is a racist who uses N-word – and claims there's tape to prove it

Donald Trump is a “racist” who has used the “N-word” repeatedly, Omarosa Manigault Newman, once the most prominent African American in the White House, claims in a searing memoir.

The future US president was caught on mic uttering the taboo racial slur “multiple times” during the making of his reality TV show The Apprentice and there is a tape to prove it, according to Manigault Newman, citing three unnamed sources.

Trump has been haunted from around the time of his election in 2016 by allegations that outtakes from the reality TV show exist in which he is heard saying the N-word and using other offensive language.

We can mock Space Force but Trump has been categorical that it is militaristic. He is just another agent of the military industrial complex and his supporters who insist he is “different” need their noses rubbed in it.

Remember the left response to Space Defence initiative (“Star Wars”) under bush? It was far less jolly though space force is arguably worse.

or maybe he likes the Russian way of splitting up the military

Space Forces : Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation

Re: Space Force

I have this dread that the Orange Twat would happily launch missiles at satellites from "unfriendly" countries thereby creating vast quantities of orbiting debris  :(

"Our relations with Turkey are not good at this time!"

Seriously, what does he think he is going to gain from saying this kind of shit? Were Turkish steel imports ever an election issue?

Obama scrapped W's plan. Reagan was the first with his Strategic Defense Initiative....a monumental waste of money on something that never worked.

We need to be ready for the lizard people when they arrive

or... another NATO member that's going to be pissed off with the US. Assuming for a moment the suspicion Trump is out to break away from that group is correct, this is a great way to create weak and feeble excuses to do so.

The Turkish owner of Trump Towers Istanbul, who pays Trump for the use of his name, was reported in December 2015 to be exploring legal means to dissociate the property after the candidate's call to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S. [4] In June 2016, Turkish President Erdogan has been reported to call for the removal of the Trump name from the towers, saying "[Trump] has no tolerance for Muslims living in the US. And on top of that they used a brand in [Istanbul] with his name. The ones who put that brand on their building should immediately remove it."

In December 2015, Trump stated in a radio interview that he had a "conflict of interest" in dealing with Turkey because of his property, saying "I have a little conflict of interest, because I have a major, major building in Istanbul ... It’s called Trump Towers. Two towers, instead of one. Not the usual one, it’s two. And I’ve gotten to know Turkey very well.",,,
I guess those legal efforts must have quite progressed..wiki

Trump was compromised by Russian spies when he went to Moscow in 1987 and has been used by the Kremlin for DECADES, bombshell new book claims
Author Craig Unger was told by a top KGB general that there is no doubt Trump would have been compromised when he was invited to Moscow in 1987
He went with his first wife Ivana but Oleg Kalugin, then KGB's head of counterintelligence says he would have had 'many young ladies at his disposal'
'House of Trump, House of Putin', which has been obtained by DailyMail.com, claims that Trump is a 'Russian asset' whose greed made him 'easy prey'
It says he has dealings with shady Russians with spy ties as far back as the 1970s and took Russian money for condos from the 1990s on
Trump properties were bought through company which Unger says was a front for Russian spies to keep tags on what oligarchs were spending
Controversial author Unger was heavily quoted in Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11' movie thanks to his book alleging the Bush family had huge Saudi links

The Mail link is less than encouraging but the rest sounds fair. If the Russians were looking for easy meat, Trump is exactly what they want. Fat gob, ideal popularist idiot, greedy as fuck in every way, easy to compromise with 'fresh meat' and a video camera, then finish off by giving the fucker a load of cash.

Every theory needs proof or at least something of value to make it worth the read, and Trump's actions against US interests in favour of Moscow's, whilst not damning, is easily enough to make the suggestion worth looking into.
RM is very probably doing so.

Now to the massive problem for the Republicans - that bunch of cretins seem to have put a Russian agent into the white house, defended his idiocy, then been caught on tape admitting obstructing an investigation into the possibility - Heads have to roll if this is proven, and it's lots of heads.
That's quite a nice thought, and one that'll fuck them up big style.

The space force opponents are a bit shit, posting their picture of space battles with aliens when the reality is a space force aimed at earthy 'enemies' (most likely politically created enemies).
WW one saw the creation of air forces, first for observation, then lobbing grenades, then aircraft designed to bomb, and interceptors sent up to stop the bombers.
We went from canvas and string to mach 3 in the blink of an eye, now we're using satellites for observation - where's that heading?

The cash would be far better spent getting rid of poverty and hunger, and that sort of cash would do so in months, but poverty and hunger cause conflict, and the arms industry love that.

Much of the worlds steel rebar and the like is priced FOT / etc turkey these days - it’s a massive contributor to the Turkish finances. The moribund US steel industry will be initially pleased
