What new foods have you tried recently?

Hemp "milk".

LN_370422_BP_11.jpg

They sadly ruined it by adding vanilla WHY ?

Water, Hemp Cream (3%), Grape Juice Extract Concentrate, Calcium from Seaweed (Lithothamnium Calcareum), Emulsifier (Sucrose Ester), Stabiliser (Xanthan Gum), Natural Flavouring (Vanilla), Sea Salt, Vitamin D2

I like vanilla too, but hemp has such a lovely rich earthy taste.
I was amazed to find there wasn't actually sugar in this stuff.
I may try making sugarless custard with it.

Many forms of.new bread, mainly rye and seed combos and rugbrod which is cooked in.a geo thermal thimgy in.the ground in.a milk carton. Proper skyr. Wolf fish.

So you've tried it have you?

Admittedly it doesn't sound like an attractive combo but it smelled more of hendos than it tasted of it.

Don't knock it til you've tried it :p

nope, not tried it.

Where did you buy it?

I'll get some and try it just for you and then deliver my verdict...

I didn't buy it :p a kindly ice cream lady who was very happy with a service i provided came and gave me a sample having had it specially made somewhere local.

It won't be the mint magnum revelation all over again for you i'm afraid :(

Hendersons relish ice cream, not as vulgar as it sounds, actually quite nice :)

I think Jay Raynor & R4 were in Sheffield yesterday and there was a lot of talk of Henderson's Relish which have only bought one bottle ever. There was a comment of the only thing they could think it wouldn't go with was rice pudding. Stated to be sweet, salty & sour!

I'd descirbe the hendo's element as like a caramel looking, savoury ripple running through it.

I'd do it again either way

I have a weakness for soy yoghurt on weekends, but this one was really difficult to get down - acidic, overpowering flavour. I only bought it because they were out of plain Sojade which is my preferred brand ...

It may have zero sugars, but I had to mix it with a lot of muesli to make it just about palateable.

Last night I had Dragon Eggplant. It's instantly become my favourite Chinese food ever. It was so good.

Aubergine, sliced into thin slices along its body, but still connected at the bottom. It felt like it was deep fried but I'm not 100% sure. The middle was so soft and tasty, and the outside was crunchy. I think it was coated in breadcrumbs or something. Then it had a minced pork and soy and chilli and vegetable 'sauce' poured over the top. I didn't take any pictures and the ones on Google images don't do it justice, but this looks the closest to the one I had (though mine looked miles nicer).

It was seriously huge/filling, too. :)
That looks fucking ace.

Tea and ricotta souffle. Served in a preserving jar with slices of fruit and veg, as part of a main course with a selection of salads, meat and veg options.

Interesting taste but I don't think I'll be adding it to my regular diet.

cadbury fingers salted caramel crunch

immense tbf

I saw them recently when I was out, but went for the ones with white chocolate and then dark chocolate coating - I think they were called fabulous fingers or something. They were anything but fabulous - sickly and vile. But I still finished the box. :D

I have a liver, bacon and mash meal for tomorrow night. I've not tried liver for about 20 years so it may be OK now but I've never liked the texture. I'll find out tomorrow I guess!
