I might try and find some sausage skins and make proper sausages with this mix. But the last ones I had were a bit solid, and were quite hard to cut into. Also, they need to be veggie.
If you find any, post it up here. I'd be interested in making my own too.I might try and find some sausage skins and make proper sausages with this mix. But the last ones I had were a bit solid, and were quite hard to cut into. Also, they need to be veggie.

Who knew of the troubled inner life of the sausage?
Yeh, the ones they use for Richmond are tough as old leather! I don't think I've ever shopped for sausage skins, wouldn't know where to look. There's plenty around - I just want to find some that are a bit less tough!
I don't know who did the original Sosmix, but I think that they're not in business any more, and Suma seems to be the main supplier. I made some yesterday, pimped up with some herbes du Provence and ground pepper, and it's definitely up there amongst the better veggie sausages I've eaten. As long as we're still rambling, what is Suma Sosmix? I know Sosmix, which I used to love tarting up with whatever came to hand, but which seems to have disappeared from shops. I didn't know Suma, but the internet tells me it's a different mixture, not that I've noticed it in shops either.
Protoveg.I don't know who did the original Sosmix,
