What are you having for breakfast?

A few more calories than of late as I didn't get around to baking bread, so I had to make a tiny "damper" and it took a while to notice my error when I weighed-out 70g of flour and rolled oats instead of 17.85 ...
For efficiency's sake I ought to cook the rest of the dough in one go and chop it up.
The original plan was to only have it for one day, but it went down very well with the usual yeast extract and peanut butter.

EDIT:- I cooked the remaining dough and chopped it into four - so all set for another 4 days - perhaps I wasted the money on that bread machine paddle - but it will benefit whoever gets the machine when I leave here ...

Tesco similar (scroll down)

Ocado - I think they may still be aggregating reviews for the vegetarian version, but lots of critical comments: https://www.ocado.com/products/cauldron-vegan-lincolnshire-sausages-61901011
There's a petition.

Definitely the end of an era methinks.
I suppose it's appropriate that I'm hoping to move to where the crepe is king ...
This morning I made a very satisfactory "pancake" with 80g of WM flour and jumbo oats - then cut it into four so I'm good for the weekend.
I really don't miss having the full 500kcals of bread, peanut butter and yeast extract and have learned to savour little pieces extracted with a fork...

That said, even with several hundred calories of salad for lunch, I was noticeably tired even only half way through my second 3 mile walk, so I will have to take serious exercise like cycling and ocean swimming into account in the future.
For now, I have kilos to burn and a metabolism to re-educate...

Since you're planning to move to Brittany, why not find a source of buckwheat flour and get geared up for galettes?

Also worth a look would be staffordshire oatcakes - you make them with wholemeal flour and oats - I blitz mine in the liquidiser.

I got keen a while back and bought a cheap crepe pan and buckwheat flour, but I didn't have much success.

I'm going to have to learn to make an effort generally with cooking if I'm going to sneak veggie food past the locals...

Things are improving. Culturally, it's still very meat based - try finding a formule that is veggie friendly (and isn't crepes/galettes), but on an individual basis, more and more people are at the least veggie-aware, and I think there's a strong vegan undercurrent in France, too.

Almost a nice bit of plaster (as in medical), hiding in my muesli. 🤢 :hmm:

Sadly, muesli from Tesco, the extra nuts I poured in from Morrisons, so I can't really write an angry email looking for compensation...
