What are you baking?

American cups are a different size to UK cups when it comes to recipes. Most cup measures sold in the UK are the UK quantites, unsurprisingly, so recipes often fail cos of this. If the entire, that includes liquids, recipe is in cups then you can use any size cup as it's the ratio that matters. A tablespoon is 15ml, a teaspoon 5ml and there are measuring spoons available for a pinch, a smidgen and a dash :D

Yeh, this doesn't look right (why I dint take a picture) to me but I have a feeling it'll be rate nice

ETA. I made a banana cake the other week and it was boss. Also, I love bananas.

Hmm. Surprised to see the bad times with biscuits. It was one of the first super quick recipes I learned as a kid, though they weren't gourmet or anything. The main point of the recipe, afaict, is that it was straightforward and suitable for biscuit cutters.

At complete odds with the weather (but in harmony with my fruit bowl) I made a plum crumble yesterday. Because I'd had some plums for over a week and they were still rock hard (out of season, I know). It was absolutely the right the thing to do, they've cooked to perfection and a glorious pink/purple colour. And I aced the topping. Must remember how I did it.
