What are you baking?

i havnt baked in a while because all i tend to eat is cake.

im not saying thats a bad thing just a little habit forming.

i do however have a new to me gingernut recipe im very keen to have a go at.

all the cakes look and no doubt are delicious.....

Because who the fuck makes a croquembouche at home (or ever) :D
I've made quite a few.

They're not hard. IMO. They're just very repetitive. If you can make one profiterole, you can make 200. The difficult (?) bit is constricting a sensible (and reasonably greaseproof) cone to drop the fuckers into / mould them with. (I'd definitely go for long and thin in future - if there's enough chocolate welding there, the stability should be fine. And short squat ones really don't look very great in comparison.) Oh. Getting the "bottom" of the cone reasonably flat / straight is a pretty important part of things, too :D

They're not particularly expensive, either - iirc, the main cost is basically the White chocolate welding. (About 800g-1kg of the stuff, last time I made one).

Lol yes!
I'm out of action at the moment and my mum went shopping for me and bought them by mistake. I didn't have the heart to say anything. :D
