What animals/wildlife have you seen today?

Had to wait for a deer yesterday to get off the A40. It didn't seem phased or even know what to do particularly.

Years ago, I had to stop for a large fallow stag that was standing in the middle of the road on the Ashdown Forest. It just stood there, staring at me. Even though I'd stopped, I was worried that another car might hit it so had to get out of my car to shoo it away. As I walked towards it, it casually walked off into the trees.

No deer spotted when driving home over the hills but a hodgepig was seen scurrying across the grassy knoll just by my house

I've just seen two hares running and jumping in the field next to the bridlepath I was walking on. It feels like such a privilege to have seen them.

Saw a little Muntjack last night.

They may be little but they can make a very loud noise ..

No it was black so probably a stag beetle.

Oooh, I saw about 20 deer this morning on the way to work. I’ve known they live in the area I drove thorough for years but never seen them.

Also, on my way home yesterday, I noticed the youngish cows (teens?) were moving quite fast, together. When I passed the next bush I could see they were chasing/checking out a pair of peasants! It was so cute

Saw a slow worm on the shed roof yesterday as I was prising some ivy off.
Seen one down that end of the garden when we first moved in, 5 years ago.
It’s nice to think they’ve been continuous all that time.

Never seen one round here, my parents get them enjoying the area around their compost heap in a rural bit of Surrey though.
