West Ham United. 2019-20

Be interesting to see a) if West ham do sign Gedson on loan from Benfica and b) if so how he performs in the EPL. Very versatile hard working midfielder( with some CL and Europa League experience) team player, he defends and attacks well, passing good, movement good and has got the odd goal . Not scared to rough it looks quite slight but thats deceptive as he has lots of determination and some strength. He's in a queue to try and break full time into what is an overcrowded Benfica midfield esepcially due to the unexpected revival of Adel Taarabt. Benfica also have a model as a selling club where good promising youngsters ie Joa Felix, Renato Sanchez are flogged off often at somewhat inflated prices despite needing a bit of development .Benfica cant really lose with this as the loan will add value to any future transfer. For West ham its a bit of a gamble as the tempo and tactics of the game in the EPL are very different from the Portuguese League and hes not the finished product . West Ham fans will need to be a bit patient with his development but if he signs I hope he does well.

I've come up with 3 seasons out of the last 22 where we weren't shit. I mean not that we won anything but that I actually enjoyed watching us.

2015-16 obviously.
2005-06 Cup final, Ashton.
1997-98 Di Canio et al.

Have I missed any? Cos that is fucking miserable.

If we don't beat Brighton we're going to look a bit doomed. We would need 15 points from the last 10 games.
Wow, maybe we are actually going to get relegated. How exciting.

Brexit football in the championship. Mark will be happy. Good honest British football, none of this fancy foreign passing bullshit. 4-4-2 big man little man up front pacy wingers, good old British two footed tackles. Real men dusting each other off and shaking hands. Respectful nod to each other and off to the pub for a pint or two. Not a clappy stick in fucking sight. Can't wait.

No. He’ll be there end of season providing they stay out of bottom 3.

He'll be there till the end of the season even if we lose every other game.

Which is looking possible at the moment.

Still, Liverpool twice and City in the next four. Be amazed if we're not in the bottom 3 after those and can't see us getting out of it either.

Absolutely awful today. Never even looked like scoring.

Liverpool tomorrow.
The reds are on a poor run of form at the moment.

Predictions? The Hammers fans seem to be downbeat about it mostly.

Losing 0-2 is ok I suppose. Much worse and we would be 2nd bottom of the league now.
Tomas Soucek on loan looks alright but I can't say I'm excited since every other signing recently has ended up a bit of a disappointment.
Maybe Soucek, Rice and Fornals in midfield with Antonio up front would be a bit more lively.

My old mate (West Ham fan) now lives in the US so is getting up at all hours to watch the games. He is struggling to keep the faith :(

I'm sure the arrival of Jarrod Bowen will make all the difference.

Big game today #noeasygames

West Ham have never beaten Brighton in the Premier League in five attempts (D2 L3).

Both sides on a poor run and Hammers with home advantage :hmm: get the feeling it might be a cagey game, possibly a low score draw.

We'll be alright, we've got a Brexit manager, we've just signed the Brexit Salah and we've got Mr. Brexit himself, Mark Noble.

It'll all be fine.

That game was so West Ham though. FFS.

Just saw the 'highlights'...Brighton's second goal is a bit embarrassing. An inability by 3 separate players to kick straight, talk to each other or head the ball. Makes Rigobert Song look good.

That was awful. And then of course Murray with a disputed handball goal.

Sometimes football is so fucking scripted.

Couple of tough games ahead :hmm:

Manchester City (A) 09/02
Liverpool (A) 24/02
Southampton (H) 29/02
Arsenal (A) 07/03
Wolves (H) 15/03
Tottenham (A) 20/03
Chelsea (H) 04/04

Predictions?
Points from the possible 21 available?
