That one candidate was named for a special thanks along with another person. It was the last line of a long mailout about food banks. It's innocuous at best. It was a separate mailout to the shortlisting nomination ones.
It typifies Starmer's priorities for the party. This bloke was hardly a red under the bed, he's actually quite centrist, but still not the preferred candidate. So dissolve the selection committee and call it null and void.
