US election 2012

If there's an afterlife they may well do :D He was from London, she was from Ontario. They met whilst serving in Ohio in the war. He always told a story about giving up his seat on a bus to a black woman and being howled down by everyone else on the bus :( (but :) for him for being a non-racist gent)

Just read that Dayton went for Obama. That's where my grandparents met and married :)

Ryan kept his job as well - ran for his seat as well as Veep - clearly didn't feel confident that he'd get the Veep gig. He's a probably candidate for 2016 now .

Minnesota has defeated a constitutional amendment defining marriage as only between a man and a woman

Lots of stuff like this tonight. A handful of same-sex marriage laws, a couple of marijuana laws (Colorado will be taxing and regulating it, and $40m in proceeds from that will be put specifically into the public education system), and doctor assisted suicide. Interesting stuff.

Someone on PBS recalling that in 2000 the election was called for Al Gore - and it was Karl Rove who disputed it.

This is while they twiddle their thumbs waiting for Romney to concede, muttering about the tight connection between Fox as Rove's new employer and the Republican campaign, until they suddenly stop (producer tells them to?)

They're told Romney "isn't ready to concede".
