Yeah definitely. In terms of really unexpected ones I thought The Stargazer's Assistant was great, enjoyed Jellyskin, Colin Stetson, Nihiloxica are brilliant. Nuovo Testamento are fun if you like 80s Madonna. John Francis Flynn and Lankum both excellent despite the 'I read about them in the Guardian' element. Also Surgeon who I'd expect to be good but might not have got round to listening to if I wasn't going through the list.
Probably others too, I might need to do it again to remember!
