The utter brilliance of the second album keeps me listening. I like her voice and guitar playing, so I'll forgive her for being less than stupendous lyrically occasionally.Your and my brothers Marling soft spot always make me give her a go, but this one was bland even by her recent standards.
I had Billy Strings, Jaime Wyatt, Rachel Baiman, Rhiannon Giddens, Chris Stapleton and Molly Tuttle. My number 1 was Valerie June which has elements of country amongst everything else.No country in the U75 top 30, but then it's pretty low in my list, doesn't seem to have been a good year. Anybody else got any country suggestions for 2017?

Grows on you.I tried the penguin cafe, didn't love it very much though. Shame as it should fit my aesthetic this season too.
Have you heard the first album, A Matter of Life... ? I think that's the probably better, but I really like this one, probably one of things I've listened to most this year.I tried the penguin cafe, didn't love it very much though. Shame as it should fit my aesthetic this season too.
I'm pissing in the wind every year when I vote in these polls. I've long since given up any expectation of having an impact on the result, I just like thinking back over what albums have made an impact on me over the year. For what it's worth, yours is always one of the lists I like to check outI feel like I'm pissing in the Urban wind. I seem to becoming more estranged from any hive mind with only two of mine making the list.
For what its worth here's mine....
Well done for voting for this. I completely forgot about it when I put my list together, but then ended up playing it loads the last week. It's brilliant.Shinichi Atobe - From The Heart, It's A Start, It's A Work Of Art
I forgot about this too. I love Timothy J Fairplay, but this album was just more of a good thing and there's other stuff of his that I'll listen to before this one.Timothy J. Fairplay - Where Is The Champion?
I was astounded by the Arca album. Astounded that no-one had a word with him about his singing before he released it. Someone should've taken him aside before he finished it and said "Look mate, you sound like bloke down pub doing a Bee Gees impression after a few too many. Stick to instrumentals".Arca was my number 1, it didn't even make the list. I'm astounded. You tasteless fucks!
I pay attention to your recommendations and some of my top albums this year are from your suggestions, so thanks! I listened to it once, and, like with the Richard Dawson, I'm mystified as to what the attraction is?I was astounded by the Arca album.
