My lateness meant I could only submit 2 😁

B12's Electro Soma and Melvins' Houdini.

If I'd done a proper list then Polygon Window would have featured high for sure - as would Souvlaki....

Huh, I suppose that answers my question about whether any urbs care about the Melvins. Seems like your very high vote and my fairly low vote weren't enough to get them a place in the chart, though.

Nope. It's a great tune, of course, but if we were voting on songs, my list would look very different.

This would be near the top

There's too many individual amazing tunes for one to be at the top, but...

Your Favorite Martian - Sex in Zero Gravity

Two number 5s. No wonder they didn't place higher if you messed up the scoring

Also, is it just me who hadn't heard of that album, didn't know Aphex Twin made music as Polygon Window, and genuinely thought Knotted had just made that album up as a joke for a minute there?

My 10

Leaders of the News School - T.I.M.E
Digable Planets - Reachin
Polygon Window – Surfing On Sine Waves
Primus - Pork Soda
Gunshot - Patriot Games

Midnight Marauders - A Tribe Called Quest
Alpha & Omega – Everyday Life
De La Soul - Buhloone Mindstate
D 12 - Electro-Soma
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

Midnight Marauders is so classic, shouldve put it higher tbh (the odd Phife lyric a bit youthish for me now marked it down a notch, still so good though)

Whatever beat Souvlaki to no 1 must be good - 'cause Souvlaki is contender for album of the decade..

Take As Needed... is great imo:

Never really listened to Eyehategod - though I've always meant to as I've long been a fan of Sleep (and am currently sporting my Sleep t-shirt - which I use for Sleep-ing in). I've popped it on now and yep - very very tasty sludge. It's a little early in the morning for sludge - so I think I'll come back to it though...

I did not see Polygon Window getting top spot - that was the one I mentioned yesterday as being better than Incunabula and Electro-Soma, so I'm glad to be proved (sic) right.

My top twenty. I thought Gentlemen would at least place, so that's a big oversight by the rest of you:

  3. Polygon Window - Surfing on Sine Waves
  4. Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen
  5. Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle
  6. Fugazi - In on the Kill Taker
  7. Autechre - Incunabula
  8. Th' Faith Healers - Imaginary Friend
  9. Global Communication/Chapterhouse - Blood Music: Pentamerous Metamorphosis
  10. B12 - Electro-Soma
  11. Pet Shop Boys - Very
  12. Orbital - Orbital 2
  13. Cypress Hill - Black Sunday
  14. Frank Black - Frank Black
  15. The Black Dog - Bytes

  20. Slowdive - Souvlaki

If anyone wants to run 2003 they can and I'll do the adding up - I can do that in a couple of hours now. I'm not much use at knowing running commentary beyond the 70's.
