It means you can't compare bullying in an environment that you are free to leave at any time with bullying based on an aspect of who you are. The tories specialise in the latter.

If he was in an environment he was forced to be in like school or work or whatever then you would be right, but this lad actively sought out the company of posh thugs with predilections for bullying the vulnerable.

Anyone who bullies someone is vile. Being bullied to death is a vile way to go and desperate for the family affected. It just happens that if the person you are talking about is themselves involved in something vile, the first 2 sentences in this post will fall away for a while. And I feel like neither a hypocrite nor a twat in thinking that.

Nope. I haven't said anything like that. First of all it's not political leanings we are talking about, it's activism. Secondly, I've sympathy for his family and I hope the bloke who did it gets everything that's coming to him. But as he's an enemy whose side have killed thousands of claimants and disabled people he's not at the top of my sympathy list.

I also don't know - and you don't know - why it happened. If he killed himself, maybe, just maybe, it was related to cruel comrades in the Tory party. Maybe it was related to drug abuse. Maybe his girlfriend had dumped him. Maybe it had nothing to do with any of those things.
If he was a friend of yours, of course it makes sense that you should be upset, but if not... could you just spell out what it is about this story that seems particularly important or interesting?

Like the OP, my first thought was all those disabled and vulnerable people driven to suicide by tories, this could just be an extension of that manifestation.

Suicide is shit and no one will ever know the underlying cause because they are dead. The fact that you have a daughter of the same age doesn't hold weight. No one is shrugging off suicide or welcoming the mans suicide, they are however pointing out that the tories couldn't give a flying fuck about mental health issues. I only hope she never needs help.
