Tommy Robinson is a horrible man

So sounds like a flop for the Tommy mob? Great news.

I’ve see claims that the turn out was a little lower than last time and that the anti Robinson demo was bigger . However we are still talking big numbers .

Without TR’s presence the mood seems a little subdued although resentful and the demographic seemed to be very middle aged . From what I saw of the speeches there was no real spark despite the efforts of Liam Tuft as compete to get the crowd going . In fact the tuneless Pentecostal group singing ‘patriotic ‘ gospel songs that opened proceedings probably set the tone of mediocrity that followed . A businessman and ex mayoral candidate , a Welsh UKIP member, a 16 year old who could barely string a sentence together , later an ex Tory now UKIP, a couple of German Perdiga , the lone Sikh , the Iranian ex Tory bloke who has YouTube channel , a barely audible singer songwriter who inadvertently cut off the sound system , and some French fascist women against immigrant sexual assault all interspersed with clips from yet another documentary before two Tiller Girls type dancers finally round it off .

I don’t think it was a flop however it wasn’t progress . Where it leaves TRs movement is uncertain , Ingrams who is now on what remains of UKIPs exec hasn’t the political mouse or presence that TR has . I don’t think Danny Tommo was there and Tufts is just a stage presence . TR has already said that the next documentary will start as soon as he is sent down and that part of it will be about people taking the streets and him being interviewed in prison . In my view there has to be a question of how galvanising his jailing will be . Those who went out and fought the good fight for TR last time are now locked up and there has to be a question about what capacity and appetite ‘the movement ‘ has for any really meaningful protests let alone confrontations . Perhaps civil disobedience type stunts ?

However what is certain is that the cash cow will still operate . They announced how people could donate to urban scoop at least three or four times and also announced a collection for the bloke who hung himself and for TR’s kids .

Doesn’t half his mob go out for the ruck? So if they didn’t get one and had to listen to a few boring speeches maybe that’ll depress turnout in future? Doesn’t sound like much went on.

Thanks for the write up.

How much are they paying that Sikh weirdo? I thought I saw him in the background in the TR surrendering pictures.

It feels like half of them just want to kick off but didn’t really have an excuse. Let’s hope they don’t think of one.

The fact that the attendance was down rather than up after his arrest does suggest that future turnouts face a challenge. However, I wouldn't write off 15k or so right wingers who want all the boats stopped, are anti immigration and think women and children need protection from Muslims .

I think most of us thought that there would be the threat of violence, especially with him being arrested. However I don't know if you had the opportunity to look at any clips before you posted but what I got from it , and the last demo, was how middle aged a lot of the supporters were.He has always had a fair few women supporters and at one stage women led the march . The whole preparation was similar to the last, and larger , demo ie an A-B , and an afternoon of 'entertainment' , but this time more repeated warnings of no masks, no fighting. There were tributes to those arrested and Peter Lynch but I didn't get the impression that there was a queue to join either them or him.

I'm not sure, at this stage anyway, that TR isn't about building a movement that controls the streets. He has severely back tracked from his pre riot and early post riot frenzy . He might want to make his presence felt but it's more about a movement that gives him leverage and status as a way of an income. If there are some rucks when he is jailed then it's more a by-product than the end aim or tactic.

Incidentally, there was a show of hands if you support Reform or UKIP in which the crowd favoured UKIP. Last time it was all Reform. The UKIP rump must be licking its lips if it ever gets TRs endorsement and benefits from his profile.

Good turn out at the SUTR march yesterday. Corbyn is still sounding quite sprightly !
Left as we hit the Whitehall crowds. Perhaps a separate thread but if we're concerned about statues I just don't understand why there's a statue of Charles I in Trafalgar Sq.? the police had to surround it which is funny, Why isn't it consigned to the Royal Archives ?

Any estimates size of the SUTR turnout?

Forgot to mention the tiny little anti Iranian regime demo which looked chock full of cranks. I was initially confused by this flag in combination with all of the Union Jack, Trump and Israeli flags but realised it was Monarchy for Ira(n). Still an absolutely wild combination of views.

Someone should at least remove the head.

Just returning to the why didn't they kick off theme. Red Flare state in their bulletin "In a livestreamed meeting with Metropolitan Police tactical commanders on 19 October, head organiser Richard Inman discussed details of the event. The setup includes a reported 100 stewards, 50 SIA security guards and a close protection team for Yaxley-Lennon, if he is able to attend, led by army veteran Martin Evans."

There's an interview with Inman on Youtube in which he says that after the St Georges Day violence and arrests the strategy was changed to cooperate with the Police by meeting with Gold, Silver and Bronze Commanders which commenced for the June 1st demo , was repeated for the 27th July and for yesterday's demo. He also said that they wouldn't allow Patriotic Alternative or similar groups to attend. He described the TR campaign and its potential allies as civic nationalists , centre right.

Allegedly Mark Collet from Patriotic Alternative with his Free Sam Melia banner was asked to leave and escorted from the demo yesterday.

He has pleaded guilty and is expected to be sentenced later today. I glanced at a live stream outside the court and unless it was the wrong court there was no demo. Perhaps this afternoon?

After his fans have had a skinful

Robinson is unrepentant.

However, the judge allowed for four months to be removed from the sentence if Robinson “purged” himself by removing the false claims from social media accounts he controlled. Standing in the dock, Robinson was seen to look up to supporters and mouth “no”.

he should top himself in jail as a sign of solidarity with the lynch fella :hmm:

I initially agreed, but then I thought it might upset his fellow knuckle-draggers so much that it makes them even more set on violence and disruption.
