Things to look out for in Lidl and Aldi

I bought cremant de jura from Aldi today instead of Prosecco because it's got very good reviews. They had massive bottles of Austins but I had so much booze in my trolley I just couldn't fit any more stuff in

Basically I bought booze and cheese
The Cremant de Jura is good.

Aldi have reduced their bags of nuts.... This could be lethal

Also got a tablecloth that's quite nice for 7 quid

I really wanted a DELUXE Tête de Moine - Lidl UK but my local is too small to stock them :(

comes on a stand with it's own whirling cheese blade and everything

If it helps, I got one last year and was very excited to try the cheese blade thing, but it was a cheap plasticky thing that i binned soon after Christmas. The cheese smelled of death too and everyone in my family complained

I don't reccomend Aldi's Fleurie - any subtle floral notes are spoiled by the acidity - so it ends up tasting a bit like cheap white wine - I will amend this if it improves as the days go by ...
The Fleurie improved a little over the next couple of days, but was still rather disapointing.

The Chateau Poliane Cotes de Bourg 2014 Bordeaux on the other hand is very nice indeed - full-bodied without swamping my veggie food - I will be picking up a few more bottles.

The nearest Aldi to us in Portugal at Xmas was doing a bottle of Gin Red Fruits for 9.99 euros, Cava 4.99 euros, large cans of wheat beer 69cents,brandy 7.99 euros, veuve Durand champagne 14 euros and a promotional campaign including recipes for their 1 kilo bag of frozen chicken gizzards 1.99 euros

Oooh.. The wean loves Nakd bars for "first breakfast", but I really can't be arsed to brave Costco just to pick up another box of them. Not that Aldi's any closer, mind you...

Ridge Valley tonic water, Aldi's rip off of Fever Tree, is lovely.
Can't remember how much is was, but it was certainly cheaper than Fever Tree.

Popped into our local Aldi to see if I could pick some up for Mrs Voltz and the person I asked in the store didn't have a clue what I was on about - the only tonic they seem to sell, at the moment, is in 500ml plastic bottles and it's Vive(?) or some such brand name

Do you know if this Ridge Valley Tonic water is available across all Aldi's?

I don't know how your Aldi is set out, but this was with the booze special offers.
I'll be gutted if I can't find it again :(
(and I'll be stocking up if I do see it!)

The ONLY result that comes up for Ridge Valley tonic water appears to be a patent application or IP application for Aldi - nothing else appears, so at the moment, it doesn't appear to be available that widely . . . we shall see

And given that Fever Tree with either Gin or Vodka is Mrs Voltz's tipple of choice it'd be well worth keeping an eye out for it and getting a LOT
