They had white port today, friendofdorothy. Quite pricey though at £15 a bottle.

If you like tawny port, there was a vintage one half price. Worth a punt for a tenner I'd say.

Wasnt any creme caramel ice cream left but got some delicious french biscuits called lunettes. They have apricot or blueberry. Yum, well worth 1.79.

I got a steam generator iron from Aldi reduced from £60 to £35 and I'm very pleased with it. Particularly since my friend was insisting I needed a Tefal £200 one.

This went off with a very loud bang yesterday and is going back to Aldi.

Lidl has a nice selection of turkish pizza, hot and cold mezze, including some tasty hummus. I'm currently feeding to a suspicious 3 year old.

having extensively tested Jeeves cocktail mix from Lidl, with friends and neighbours at out street party on saturday, I would say its as good as Pimms. Only £5.99 for a litre.

I picked up a load if frozen mojitos. 4 packs in little tubs for 2 quid . Bung them in the microwave for a minute to sort of defrost then then I pour in that reasonably priced bottle of white rum I picked up for less than a tenner. Because they're only one percent on their own . And add a squeeze of lime . I've been waddling around quite contended all weekend listening to burt bacharach and the like quaffing cocktails galore .They're bloody nice . Sadly didn't have any fresh mint but I don't care. They were lovely .

40 inch waist is actually more like 43 inches - not that I often wear trousers around my actual "waist"...

Oh and if you haven't tried Lidl's Maris Piper chunky oven chips please do so. Easily the best oven chips I've had - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and flippin' lush.
