The Trump presidency

lol CR will be along in a mo to tell us how offended he is :D

Probably to busy on the comments section of RT, I have a wander on there now and again trying to figure out what his moniker is but the varieties of colours bafflement 'pink cyan'???

Trumps disrespect for the CIA is one of his better qualities in my opinion, I consider the CIA half think-tank, half terrorist organization. We should dwell more on the bad and fucked-up things he's into.

Thing is, Trump isn't complaining about their terrorist exploits abroad. If he was, he might have garnered a bit more respect. He's pissed at them for casting doubt on his legitimacy.

Every pub has a Trump, but now we look at them wondering, 'fuckinell'could she/he.........
It would be different in America. For starters, a lot of the areas that voted Trump are in "dry" counties - no pubs, no bars, yuppie or otherwise.

Also, what to British eyes and ears seems like off-putting cockieness, loudness and swagger is seen and heard by many Americans as a sign of confidence and good leadership.

I love the preemptive assumption of fake news, so obediently Trump trained already.

My bold, no pause for laughs at the end there, not many laughs at all.

Is he talking in general or specifically? The broad implication is there is no victory without spoils for Trump. More subtly Trump thinks depriving IS of oil revenues would eradicate it as he promises too. IS finally necessitates the appropriation the prophet Trump wisely saw as an extractive economic opportunity earlier. The US security establishment, part of which he is addressing, was/is too stupid to see this. He's wrong of course, IS revenues aren't mainly from Iraqi oil, but from taxation. At the very least its an example of very poor and confused messaging.

The IRGC will regurgitate that on their social media in Arabic. They don't even have to frig with it. That'll filter through to their 60K+ guys on the ground if they aren't already cursing the Ali Baba Trump on Youtube. These guys in any case are convinced the US backs IS and came to steal their oil. Most Iraqis are unfortunately. They don't need the Iranians to tell them. It's just confirmation when Trump jokes about having a second crack at it. US troop numbers have been escalating in Iraq recently. That's a sensitive topic in Baghdad politics. Threats against them by Shia militia leaders are common. If some IRGC asset sticks an EFP on US SF Humvee up Mosul way as a hands off message to the freshly incarnated orange Great Satan it really won't seem so funny.

Eh? Got the US and SP wits the rest?

Donald's been busy today - signing $1.8m worth of arms deals to Kuwait, Saudia Arabia, Kenya and the UK, bless him.

EVERYTHING he says is about promoting his legitimacy - lying about numbers at his inauguration, dissing anything that looks like criticism, complaining about unflattering photos, the lot.

I think this is partly due to his colossal ego. Throughout his incredibly privileged life, he's had people constantly saying "yes" to him, so when that doesn't happen, he's furious.

I think his tweets and tantrums provide a convenient focus for outrage, so few folks notice the other things he and the GOP are doing just under the radar - the arms deals, for example.

And this

LAWMAKERS IN EIGHT STATES HAVE PROPOSED LAWS CRIMINALIZING PEACEFUL PROTEST

Jeeeeesus christ, he's like a one-man batshit machine.

On Monday, the paperwork was filed with the federal government declaring officially that Jan. 20, 2017 — the day of Trump's inauguration — would officially be known as the “National Day of Patriotic Devotion.”
Because that doesn't scream "North Korea" at all :hmm:
“Now, therefore, I, Donald J. Trump, president of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Jan. 20, 2017, as National Day of Patriotic Devotion, in order to strengthen our bonds to each other and to our country — and to renew the duties of government to the people,” the order says.

“Our Constitution is written on parchment, but it lives in the hearts of the American people,” the order continues. “There is no freedom where the people do not believe in it; no law where the people do not follow it; and no peace where the people do not pray for it.
What does that even mean?!

Can anyone read this Shyte to the end? If anyone has the patience and diligence, can they post a brief summary, Christ on a crutch, me, me and me,

Reminds me of Saparmurat Niyazov...

I'm waiting for the announcement of the giant golden statue of Trumpmenbashi on the mall in DC. One that will shower the adulatory crowds (attendance obligatory) with his refreshing benevolence. Like the sweetest rain.

Doesn't matter why he's pissed at them. For however long he's got before he gets Grassy-Knolled it will continue to be a source of amusement and fuzzy warmth for me that American power spats within itself. The beast has a belly-ache, bring on the squits.

There are dry counties in the US? No wonder they are in dire straits,

"off-putting cockieness, loudness and swagger is seen and heard by many Americans as a sign of confidence and good leadership"

Mebbes this why the US is becoming so universally despised! FFS?? that some EU political parties can view Putin favourably and many Enviromental organisations look to China to take the lead in combating AGW!
All since the Orange Buffoon took over.
Christ on a crutch, mebbes the US is the next target for 'trade snctions'

ewww.

It's looking more and more like he's into Margaret Atwood and thinks she had some good ideas in that book she wrote.

Trillions of $ available in federal lands, all now available to our friends who made my presidency possible.

Yup.

From the White House website: An America First Energy Plan

For too long, we’ve been held back by burdensome regulations on our energy industry. President Trump is committed to eliminating harmful and unnecessary policies such as the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule . . . We must take advantage of the estimated $50 trillion in untapped shale, oil, and natural gas reserves, especially those on federal lands that the American people own.

Oh, and there's this little thing that passed almost unnoticed while everyone was faffing about crowd numbers and lying press secretaries and such.

Republicans pass sweeping bill to reform 'abusive' U.S. regulation

The accountability act would jeopardize the government's capability "to safeguard public health and safety, the environment, workplace safety and consumer financial protections," the Judiciary Committee's senior Democrat, John Conyers, said before the vote.

"Worse yet, many of these new requirements are intended to facilitate the ability of regulated entities - such as well-funded corporate interests - to intervene and derail regulatory protections they oppose," Conyers said.

Specifically, the bill would require agencies to post more detailed information on proposals for an extended period of time, limit judge's interpretations in legal challenges, and require agencies to enact the lowest-cost version of a rule.

Probably will be a filibuster in the Senate, so it's not a given that it will pass but fuck me, this is a big thing.

Told ya, some sort of hostage, poor thing.:(

The placard that made me laugh inside the most...in a scared, shit I hate that, surely she knows her own mind, kind of way this weekend was 'FREE MELANIA'....

As a feminist I know that is problematic...equally so...ye gods she seems so nervious (understandable) yet Agent Orange does nothing but kiss her occassionally to confirm ownership, he does not give a flying fuck... Do i imagine he would be any different? NO.

Oh Jesus, I hadn't seen that.

With his track record of sexual abuse allegations, his own admissions of sexual assault and the "gaslighting" tactics he uses on the public, it would not come as a surprise to find he likewise abuses his wife. If he's confident enough to pull this shit publicly, well . . . :(
