I thought I would be okay reading this, but goddamn you all (including me) - now I want macaroni cheese for tea

I think I am going to make this macaroni cheese but with penne as we don't have macaroni and with tiny baby tomatoes mixed in to the dish as they needs using up and I like something to breakup the stodge.
Now, I want peas so shall I put them in the macaroni cheese or have them on the side?
 
If you use frozen peas, take them out and put them in a dish to defrost while you're cooking. Then stir in at the end. I do this with pea and parmesan risotto.
 
i have bought the makings for macaroni cheese this week. as adulterants it will have cherry tomatoes and smoked bacon lardons. I'm making it with extra mature cheddar.

Mine might be pretty much the same if badgers can't get gorgonzola on the way home.
 
Finally got around to making the bloody thing :facepalm:
It is all assembled and waiting for badgers to leave work before it goes in the oven.
I think I made the sauce too thick and not enough for the amount of pasta so have just added loads of extra cheese. That will be ok won't it?
A mix of Ementhal, cheddar and parmasan.

I will add pics of the construction process in a moment.

After the cheese topping. I am going to have to put foil under it as it is blatantly going to leak cheese over the side.
 
i did mine yesterday. my husband, who is not a carb fan, had seconds. this is a first in our whole relationship. I made 500g of pasta and 500g of cheese-worth. two thirds is already gone. it was awe-fucking-some.
