Hello
To me, that's cash.Having no knowledge or awareness of how much you've received, how much you're spending, and what is going where, is no way to carry on your personal spending.

This is to do with salary payments though which are usually sent by BACS or FPs. I think a lot of smaller companies do FPs though to keep the money in their account for an extra day. Some problems with the wonderful world of cashless transactions ...

kids these days, unaware how hard it was having to dash into the nearest pub to spend your pay packet so as not to get robbed on the way home. It's not really the same thing is it? I'm 43 and have never been paid in cash.
I have but never for legal work. Otherwise cash is a huge pain in the arse generally. Can't pay for fuck all with it except food and petrol. The standard plan for trying to launder found money. Keep the same lifestyle and pay cash for everyday things. It's not really the same thing is it? I'm 43 and have never been paid in cash.
It's why it is worth still carrying a bit of cash, but using cash does no protect you form it. Maybe just gives you a bit of a buffer at best. Which is why I still have some cash, I never use. This global computer crash is exactly why I still use cash!
To prove your point, to a degree, the cash machine at Booths opposite work runs on Windows so is currently not functioning at allIt's why it is worth still carrying a bit of cash, but using cash does no protect you form it. Point of sale or piece of shit? Hard to tell!Have you tried shopping there? I mean I assume their POS system also runs on something? Maybe they're capable of localised sales when disconnected though. Kind of intrigued, might pop to Tesco in a bit.
Yeah sainsburys local near me normally can still take chip and pin (but not contactless) when their internets down (actually that's awnsered my own question on the other thread - phew i can still get a sarnie!)Have you tried shopping there? Sainsburys was working fine at lunchtime.Mrs tag has just called me to say bring cash she is having card problems.
Presumably down to the Microsoft outage.
It's "crowdstrike" anti virus that is the problem but yeah it's probably the cause.Mrs tag has just called me to say bring cash she is having card problems.

Co-op sent me another email to say they're fixed now.The co-op just sent me an email to say their card payments are down (i don't shop there much but i bought a fridge from them about 7 years ago and still on their spam list).
Because of instructions received from Mrs tag I have just got cash out no problem from a nationwide ATM.Co-op sent me another email to say they're fixed now.
I went out in a bit of a panic this morning for a physio appointment in next town worried I would need cash and I don't even know my pin number but thankfully all was fine - shop, bus, coffee shop, physio, Tesco. And I have now discovered you can see your pin in the Monzo app anyway. But thankfully I haven't had to resort to exchanging flimsy bits of plastic with pictures of old sausage fingers on them.
The geeks know what the problem is now (crowdstrike) so it's just a matter of them fixing it. Friday is the worst day for this shit to happen though (unless you want overtime of course).
Good for them!I've just been in a clothing shop and paid by card. The person next to me paid cash, over £250
Ps I did not spend anything like thatGood for them!
I was last paid in cash on a weekend gig at a hardware shop , in 1983.It's not really the same thing is it? I'm 43 and have never been paid in cash.
