The nazi obsession with the occult is too often overlooked IMO. It's a fascinating topic, YT is full of docs on it, it lends itself to sounding conspiratorial and linking into a lot of stuff that CTists go on about but it's all pretty well founded too. The late 19th and early 20th centuries saw huge fascination in the occult. It may be fairly clunky but for me an obsession with occult stuff is a key dividing line between garden variety fascists and more bona fide nazis.

I’m not sure it’s a dividing line but rather the occult or any reference to a higher power is used as a form of divine right to rule. “God bless America” etc.

he interviewed some very upper-class people in New Orleans - the GY thing seemed a bit of a slanging match tbh - whites built America - no they didn't slaves built America ...rinse & repeat ....the one where he gets slugged seems far more to the point

Twitter has stripped several far-right accounts of their "verified" badge, after changing its policy.

Among them are Jason Kessler who helped organise a far-right march in Charlottesville, and white supremacist Richard Spencer.

English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson also had his badge removed.

Twitter said the badge was being interpreted as an "endorsement or an indicator of importance" and said it would change the scheme.

The cartoon is really dodgy. I think my loopy old aunt who lives in a retirement community in Florida is an example of a 'fringe jewish right' though, she and friends thought it was worth giving Trump a chance because he might be 'good for israel', that sort of thinking.

Some highlights if you want to save 17 minutes of your life:

He's a first amendment evangelist.
9 minutes in he describes Canada as 'socialist' and then goes on to make it out to be some sort of quasi-totalitarian state.
He agrees with Trump on a load of policy stuff but 'doesn't like him'....
Closes with rubbishing the democrat position on proposed hate speech legislation.

There's other stuff in there but those are some of the 'high' points.

A 26-year-old white man who attempted to commit a terror attack on an Amtrak train in rural Nebraska also attended the doomed Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last August on the white supremacist side, according to a court document.

St. Charles, Missouri, resident Taylor Michael Wilson has been charged with an attempt to commit terror by targeting an Amtrak train in southwest Nebraska in October 2017. FBI Special Agent Monte Czaplewski, writing in an affidavit attached to the criminal complaint, suggested that Wilson wanted to murder black people. The document suggests that he had weapons, as well as a National Socialist Movement (NSM) business card with him at the time he was arrested.

Wilson entered an engineer's seat of an Amtrak train after midnight on October 22and started "playing with the controls" of the train, according to Czaplewski’s account. No one was injured or killed in the attempted attack.

Amtrak terror suspect also attended "alt-right" event in Charlottesville, according to FBI

No one should be surprised to find this in rural parts of the country.
