Thatcher's state funeral

Lets not forget the ex Dame - Lady Shirley Porter the crook connected to Tesco's.....and Archer...........surely more Tories have been caught committing crime than Labour? Maybe the line that Conservatives are closely connected to acts of dishonesty.............? Boris and David are trying to portray that they are squeaky clean.

.. we have higher levels of prosperity housing and even better trains .. but it has all been done at a terrible cost

Do we?

Was British Rail really worse than the free for all we have now?

Surely there was more affordable housing before? (Not to mention more council houses for rent) Even with house prices falling they're out of reach for lots of people.

Take a look at any of Labour's rotten boroughs and tell me they're more honest.

The LibDems are a bunch of crooks as well once they're in a position of power.

I wonder why the lib dems are not doing better is it because clegg is a neo-lib and offers nothing different .i wonder wether old charlie boy would have taken them above nu lab

That would probably be the case but we may as well vote for them just to teach Labour a lesson

Yeah, man! What a scene!!! You and your Tory chums lining the route, sobbing into your hankies. Fuck off back to Eton, twat.

Dear Eggy Poofingers.

What a strange assumption to make.

So only an ex-Eton Tory supporter would find someone throwing excrement and rotten eggs at a hearse to be a bit of a lame thing to do?

You are clearly the product of a marvellous upbringing, your parents must be very, very proud.

Regards

Clean Fingers Muldoon.

You'd have to look damned hard to find a more corrupt, gerrymandering politician than Porter. She sold two cemeteries for £1 each, then sold off council homes and filled them with Tory voters. Cute.

"Hello young man, what are you doing in my house?"

Goodness knows what a divisive free market dogmatist like Baroness Thatcher has done to deserve a state funeral. Nelson and Wellington led campaigns to saved our national independence, Churchill led an entire war to the same end, and Gladstone was a political colossus who bestrode Westminster for nigh-on half-a-century.

Don't know enough about Palmestone, but I'm sure David Pacifico was grateful. ;)

I'm with Frankie Boyle on this one, the only question for most people is whether she needs to be dead before we bury her.

Half the country ? I doubt that very much. The Lady won 3 elections. She is still adored by many Conservatives and is admired by many many others.
Those conservatives should know better. Conservatives are supposed to conserve things: evolution over revolution. Baroness Thatcher was a wrecker who helped to destroy our industries and sowed economic and social collapse in communities across the North of England. She also excused banana despots like Auguso Pinochet and increased the power of central government. Even her stand over the Falkland Islands is tainted by her government's earlier indifference to their defence.

There is plenty to add, such as her bigotry and ignorance surrounding gay people and blind support for Monetarism, but you get the gist. In what way was Baroness Thatcher a conservative?

I have been thinking (a first for me) but i am beginning to think history will not be very kind to thatcher escpecially the shit that is happening now .in my mind the start of the credit crunch was born in 79 when thatcher came to power and let our manufacturing etc whither away so that now we have nothing in which earn money in the world markets .i think we should jump the gun and burn her at the stake now while she is still alive

We must demand a day of deep deep mourning, for the great and indomitable lady !!!! For all the wonderful things she did for us.

agree 100%
maybe not the start of the credit crunch, but without thatcher's policies we'd be much better placed to withstand it IMO

HI Alexb,What are you on about ? everyone loves the Iron lady. MRS THATCHER WAS THE BEST P.M IN BRITISH HISTORY.

Will people stop bumping this thread. Every time it rears up I get a stiffy and then am disappointed.

The sad thing is that trying so hard has produced such pitiful results. Perhaps if "jimadore" actually had the wit to troll successfully, things would be different. As it is...
He's addressing all the correct subjects... almost as if he had previous knowledge of the boards :hmm:... but the execution is poor. D-.
