Shoplifting on the rise

These cunts need to accept a squeeze on their profits instead of passing it on to the consumer and raising the price so much that people have to nick stuff.

Arla made profits of 1.5% of revenue in the first half of the year. If their profits were eliminated entirely the price of that Lurpak could drop by 10p. Would that mean people didn't "have to" nick it?

Supermarket profits are at a similar level.

Expanding the photo in Photoshop, I can see a couple of electric toothbrushes, an electronic thermometer and what appears to be a couple of ladyshaves, in fact all of it seems to be consumer electronics not groceries. People don't need to nick those.

I’m talking about Supermarket profits.

what’s that got to do with what I said?

You're still talking rubbish anyway, the answer to rising prices is actions necessary to raise wages not artificial attempts to hold prices down which are doomed to failure.
Wevs, just think they need to look the other way when it comes to groceries.
Fuck profits that only benefit a few. Down with capitalism.
I’d be all for mass shoplifting if it didn’t affect the workers

That's the spirit!! best of luck.

self service tills at our local Aldi now require staff verification for loose bananas.
as a "high risk item" says the on screen display. not cos they've suddenly become alcoholic.

amazing.

Always been iffy.

Surely that’s because they are a highly plausible claimed item in place of something costlier? Heavier produce like potatoes isn’t usually offered loose. A large value of claimed bananas would be a sensible trigger for human intervention.
a large value sure. that's suspicious if you've bought a bottle of whiskey weights' worth.
but it happened today when I bought 3. and last week when I bought 2.

Eventually, the capitalists tire of not making a profit and they pull the stores in vulnerable neighborhoods. That leaves older people especially needing a place to get groceries or prescriptions. What's your plan for replacing these entities?

I don’t have a plan. Planning’s not for me.
