Rugby Union 2014-15

If he got a yellow for it, maybe not. Hell of a hit from Pisi though, if I was Biggar I'd have jumped as well :D

I was there. It was the most nailed on spear tackle you could ever hope to see. Player lifted and inverted and them driven into the ground (elbows up) on his head.

Poite is a cowardly shit out merchant, but we knew that already.

On rewatching, some of the comments from the BT pundits was as ignorant as they were unbalanced. That bellend Dawson suggested that Biggar had made a meal of it and some other twunt, who had played the game professionally, opined that it wasn't a tip because Biggar broke his fall with his hand and therefore didn't land on his head. Inexcusable ignorance about the laws of the game from people paid good money to analyse and yet more utter inconsistency from referees. That tackle was every bit as bad as the one that saw Warburton get redded in New Zealand, so what factors could possibly have influenced the decision not to reduce qualification hopefuls, Northampton, to 14 men in a crunch match that would have a material outcome on their season?

...and this nonsense that Biggar jumped into the tackle. Watch the clip again: he'd just landed from jumping and had both feet on the floor. He was clearly lifted and inverted. But fuck player welfare, eh?

Huget apologises for his "simulation" only because he was called out on it. Brilliant. He did a dickish thing, has been told he did a dickish & has admitted & apologised for doing a dickish thing.
Probably got a slap off Picamoles too :D
Now if only they did that in football too.

I found this on another forum:

One way to get a year's holiday, I suppose. :D

Well that was a pretty exciting match. At least my BiL & nephew will be pleased & I'd rather Bath qualified than Toulouse. Still a bit of a pisser for Glasgow though.

The Pro12 is corrupt as fuck.

How can an IRFU ref officiate a game including an IRFU province? They're hellbent on Connacht getting that last cup spot.

An employee of the organisation that owns both the team playing and the team that will earn it more money if it qualifies for RCC1 officiating in a match against a rival, privately owned team also competing for that RCC1 qualifying spot. It is corrupt as fuck and nowhere else in the sporting world would such a situation be allowed to happen save for the utter fucking joke that is the pro12. The Os can also count themselves very unfortunate that SRU official, Jock McBrownenvelope was officiating their game against an SRU owned side yesterday given the fact that he handed the game to them. I'm done with calling these things accidents. They are corruption, pure and simple.

Fuck off then, you horrible little sociopathic despot. The man who has done more than anyone else to destroy the game I love in one of its heartlands finally hears the siren call and decides to take himself and his ego somewhere else. Words cannot describe how much I loathe this man.

Would you agree that he's seen the writing on the wall? His position is clearly becoming more and more untenable and this way he get's to leave on his own terms.

It's a managed exit. Him and his supporters are quick enough to take credit for hiring Gats and the grand slams but will he also be willing to take responsibility for Wales's inevitable group stage exit at the WC? Lets hope the damage can be undone, it may already be too late, just look at Cardiff and Hammet.

Bye bye you twat.

Yes, I would. Bastard deserved a lot more ignominy than the exit he's chosen for himself and now would be a hell of a lot better than October, but at least he's going.

Good wins for the O's and Llanelli. How the fuck can Rhys Ruddock think he can get away with playing for the Irish with that accent????

4/4 wins for the welsh clubs this weekend in the Pro12, not seen club rugby that decent in a long time.

The Pro12 is still shit though. Bring on the British league.

Er because he can?

Probably something to do with his ma being Irish as well.

Anyhow I see Pat Lam has made some big claims about Leighton Hodges along the lines that Hodges once said that due to being late to game in Galway and being told that he couldn't park somewhere by a steward that the incident '[Will] cost your team 7 points at least' and that he cost Connacht the game in Cardiff.

Bizarre if true. I'm usually not one to get upset by reffing but as been said here hundreds of times the Pro12 refs are shockingly poor. Bunch of failed gym teachers from what I've seen.

Only a joke mun! I think the WRU's poor treatment of his father had something to do with it. That and the enhanced prospects/wage packet in the Emerald Isle.

I also find it very amusing that the referring is now only getting attention in the media after it being called out as an issue by Irish coaches. O’Connor having the gall to complain about a rightly disallowed try on Sunday against Llanelli because his players were repeatedly taking men out off the ball is a case in point.

I do just want to go on record that I think O'Connor is a knob too. As is Doak and Foley. Lam I've a lot of time for and have done since his playing days. He seems to only speak out when he gets riled.

Of course Doak gets a little leeway as the Ulster branch management have been pretty shite of late.

Poor, bent and destroying the league

I am sick to the back teeth of irish tactics at rucktime. Every province plus the national side does it. Taking out defending players way beyond the ball with total impunity. What a bit of gall to moan about a correct call on a blatant and utter bit of cheating that merely capped off a typical afternoon of cheating.

As I've said here and on the Six Nations thread, I'm quite new to watching rugby properly so I'm still getting the hang of many terms. I get now why the props are called the loosehead and tighthead now, but can someone clarify with me whether the scrum half always feeds the scrum on one or the other's side? Some brief research hasn't garnered a definitive answer and I was paying too much attention to everything else during today's games to make copious notes.
