I mean, we know that there are constituencies like this, but why? What drives these voters? Is it incuriosity, is it something that can be tackled before we get to the ballot box? It's hard to credit so many people are as stupid and selfish as depicted. (Certain MPs excepted.) Presumably they are kind to their children and elderly parents so how to get through to them?

Very popular MP locally. Gets chased out of my street regularly but that's cause he's on doorsteps all the time and that pays off in other streets (and I suppose in parts of mine as he keeps coming back). Very Brexit, very fond of cheap Boosterism in the Johnson style, this paid off well against UKIP especially, we had one of the highest votes for leave inside Greater London. Large parts of the constituency are well off tradespeople, self-employed types. It's also the second whitest part of London (after the far South-East) but on the borders of a part of London that's changed completely due to immigration in the last 25 years and already lots of immigration into central Romford (my bit) so dog-whistle racism etc. works well here.

His constituency office is a mess of Union flags and called 'Margaret Thatcher House". I'm looking forward to painting 'rapist' in big letters on it.
