IDS is slated to be DPM - possibly in an over-arching Brexity role - Patel is said to want FCO but is being steered towards HS, Penny Maudant may or may not stay at Defence - she's a leaver, but was supporting Hunt, and is doing quite well. Johnson however might want to give Defence to one of his accolites, Mercer really wants it, but may or may not be bright enough to do it.

Rory Stewart, David Gauke and Philip Hammond are off to the back benches.

There’s always the hope that his fucking uselessness drags the whole sorry bunch down with him, but then I’m not convinced he will massively fuck up, there will be more capable people in the background keeping things on the rails, and some rallying to the flag to oppose the Corbyn nightmare.

How long before *someone* forces a vote of no confidence ?

Some of the current suggestions for the post-leadership re-shuffle are making me wince, a lot.

McVey back at the DWP?

I don't see Rudd staying.

How many DWP fuhrers will their have been at this point? IDS, Gauke, Green, McVey, Rudd? More?

A brief so toxic that only the most swivel eyed zealots would want it surely?

So McVey then? Or even her fucking partner! :O

Who though, the right have been in office since the 1970's. There is no one in the tory party that is a 'heavy hitter' Gove is the closest they've got. The right have become intellectually flabby, that's why they can't offer anything other than more of the same than their vicious tax cuts and spending cuts, remaking the soul or something a little less vicious. I'm pretty optimistic that Alexander Johnson will be so hubrised up to his blond barnet that he will fuck up.

Alan Duncan has - according to Laura K - said he won't be serving in Johnsons government. this isn't a huge shock, but its an interesting narative being formed, that Johnson is going to be left with the has-beens, loons and thickies, and one that has traction and legs.
No surprise...but a series of ministers lining up to resign before they can be sacked is kind of prefigurative of the potential chaos of the next parliamentary session.

I think there's a good sized segment of the PCP that have decided to sit out Johnson's chaotic government (chaotic for reasons both internal and external) and to attempt to avoid being smeared in his shit. The calculation - though it would be wrong to put it down to pure careerism - being that when Johnson fucks up brexit a good slice of the loony membership will leave in disgust and they can then return to more 'sensible' government under a more centerist leader.

How likely that is to happen is a matter for debate and tea leaves, but it's certainly true that there are lots of Tory MP's who would no more serve Johnson that Corbyn or McDonnell would have served Blair...

Hmm - Gove may well stay. Who knows - he hasn't flung any shit at johnson recently, which suggests he wants to stay. Chancellor even?
Mogg - dont know, he may see his role as the keeper of the true tory, thatchertie, brexit flame and stay on the backbenchers - like a mirror image Tony Benn.

Which is exactly why TCJ might be tempted to close him down with a pay-roll post.
